00:00Buried in a New York Times exploration of the Bill Belichick-Jordan-Hudson partnership
00:05is a claim that will spark a land rush by other outlets to confirm this.
00:11Hudson has told at least one person that she and Belichick are engaged to be married,
00:15and everybody else now is picking up one of the Dov Klymans of the world,
00:19the Ari Mirovs, and away we go.
00:21Bill Belichick, man, is he?
00:23June 1st is coming up.
00:24He might be getting married.
00:25Does that mean he wants to coach football or no?
00:27Is he out?
00:28You know, it's funny.
00:30I hadn't really considered that they weren't, like, together forever, if you will.
00:37Yeah.
00:37Just, I don't know, at his age, if they're already doing this thing,
00:41it doesn't seem like he's going to text her, hey, this isn't working.
00:46Like, I just, to me, so I get why everyone's going to flock to it.
00:52Yes.
00:53But it is in no degree surprising.
00:57What a crazy thing, man.
00:58What an unbelievable thing.
01:01Do you think UNC has buyer's remorse?
01:04Yes, I do.
01:05I do.
01:06Because the buyer's remorse in this would be is, like, you wanted Bill Belichick as the stalwart, right?
01:12Which, if you're thinking a high-end scenario, it's like, we get Belichick, Kevin.
01:17Same thing that would happen in Colorado.
01:18That win or lose, forget about it.
01:20There's going to be an avalanche of number one media, which you got to some degree.
01:24But number two, Kevin, the avalanche of superstar players in the NIL forcing their way in the UNC,
01:31and you had an absolute juggernaut ready to take out, or take off, I should say.
01:36And I don't really follow college football enough to see, like, where the recruits are coming from.
01:40But I just look at the ACC standings on the anticipation of next year, and it's like,
01:44hey, we got Bill, but it looks like we're going to suck.
01:47And this isn't a 48-year-old Bill Belichick.
01:50Like, let's say Sean McVay went to UNC and he's like, love college.
01:53I want to be here 25 years ago.
01:55Oh, boy, here we go.
01:56Like, this feels like Belichick's like, I love football.
01:58I want to be around football.
02:00This is almost the best way I can be a general manager and the head of football operations
02:03and the head coach at the same time.
02:05I can set my son up, and we'll be really good.
02:07But if you get nothing, like, Kevin, like, this season, like, nothing meaning we might be playing for a bowl?
02:14I don't think NC signed up for anything of what they're getting right now.
02:18Okay, so what they definitely could not have thought they were signing up with,
02:24with Bill Belichick, was off-season headline about his love life on a consistent basis.
02:33Bill was the head coach of the dynasty.
02:37We literally heard nothing.
02:40I didn't know that Belichick was, like, I guess, divorced at any point during that run.
02:46I have, I know none of it because that was Bill Belichick.
02:49So there's no way that they thought this was going to happen.
02:53Now, their thought, though, has to be, listen, we just, we want to be relevant.
02:57We want to be winning.
02:58And we imagine Bill Belichick will help us with that and also help with recruits.
03:02So I don't know if this year's recruiting class, we have to be able to point to a recruiting class, right?
03:10Like a look-ahead thing and go, boom, the Bill Belichick effect.
03:15And if you can't, then he better be winning with whatever he has on the field,
03:21whether, you know, it's good enough or not.
03:23But I think what's difficult is you've now seen a situation where Bill's, all the off-field stuff,
03:35if they open the season two and four, I don't know their schedule,
03:41you'll be like, ah, it's Hudson.
03:44His head's not in it.
03:45As opposed to, he's just getting to UNC.
03:49Give him some time.
03:50Can I throw something at you with this UNC thing?
03:55You and I, let's just say if you and I on a Monday, like we're going to be talking NFL, right?
04:01But if you and I on a Monday are going to talk college football,
04:05how often do you think the first thing we bring up is Bill Belichick
04:10instead of the Ohio State game, the Georgia game, the Bama game?
04:14Never.
04:15I wonder if it's always because people just want to like.
04:18Week one, you know what I mean?
04:20Week two, it's kind of interesting.
04:21Oh, look, he's on the sideline and did they play well?
04:24And what was his mannerisms?
04:25And did he wear like a torn, ripped hoodie on the sideline?
04:29Or was he actually decked out?
04:30Like that's true.
04:31And then after that, it just turns into, yeah, they're two and four.
04:34Who cares about Bill Belichick?
