00:00Joe Biden is facing a major health battle. The former president of the United States has been diagnosed with a quote aggressive form of cancer. Biden's personal office announces the health update May 18th with the statement obtained by NBC News reading last week President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms.
00:28On Friday he was diagnosed with prostate cancer characterized by a Gleason score of 9, grade group 5 with metastasis to the bone. The release continues, while this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone sensitive which allows for effective management. The president and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.
00:53And one of those options, a source close to the 82-year-old and his family tells NBC News is potentially hormone treatment. This announcement comes almost four months after Biden ended his first presidential term back in January.
