00:00As-salamu alaykum. In today's video, we will discuss a historical event clearly mentioned
00:07in the Holy Quran, the life of Prophet Nuh alayhi salam, and the terrifying great flood
00:13that resulted from his nation's disbelief. Nuh alayhi salam is one of the significant
00:19prophets in Islam. His life and mission are detailed in the Quran, Hadith, and various
00:26Islamic historical texts. In this video, we will learn about his message, his nation's disbelief,
00:33and the punishment sent by Allah. As sources, we will refer to the Holy Quran, Hadith, and reliable
00:41historical works like Qasa's Al-Ambaya by Ibn Kathir. Prophet Nuh alayhi salam was the tenth descendant
00:49of Prophet Adam, alayhi salam. His lineage includes. Genealogy from Adam, alayhi salam, to Nuh alayhi salam.
00:591. Adam, the first human and prophet. 2. Sheath, son of Adam, alayhi salam.
01:083. Anush, son of Sheath, alayhi salam. 4. Kenan, son of Anush.
01:155. Malalil, son of Kenan. 6. Yard or Jared, son of Malalil.
01:237. Idris, also known as Enoch, son of Yard. 8. Mutashillah or Methuselah, son of Idris,
01:32alayhi salam. 9. Lamech or Lamech, son of Mutashillah.
01:3910. Nuh, son of Lamech, peace be upon them all. Through this noble lineage,
01:45Nuh alayhi salam inherited knowledge and piety. During the time of Prophet Nuh alayhi salam,
01:53polytheism had become a part of society's culture. People were corrupt and worshipped idols made of
01:59wood and stone, believing those idols could help them or solve their problems. In this time of
02:05darkness, Allah chose Nuh alayhi salam as a guide. After Adam, alayhi salam, Nuh alayhi salam,
02:14was the first Prophet sent to reform humankind. His mission was clear, to stop his people from
02:21worshipping anyone besides Allah and to call them away from associating partners with him.
02:27Prophet Nuh alayhi salam preached tirelessly for 950 years. He invited his family, friends,
02:35and people to the message of Tahid, monotheism, so they might abandon shirk, polytheism, and embrace
02:42the oneness of Allah. Yet despite his long effort, only a few responded to his call. The reaction of
02:50his people to his dawah, invitation, was arrogance and mockery. They called him a magician and a
02:57misguided man. The wealthy and influential were the main opposition. They said, How can we believe in
03:05someone whose followers are from the lower class? In Surinah verses 1 to 9 Allah says, Indeed, we sent
03:14not to his people, saying warn your people before a painful punishment comes to them. He said, O my people,
03:21I am a clear warner to you, that you should worship Allah, fear him, and obey me. He will forgive you
03:29your sins and delay your end until an appointed time. When Allah's decree time comes, it cannot be
03:35delayed, if only you knew. He said, O my Lord, I have called my people night and day, but my calling
03:44has only made them run away. Every time I call them so you may forgive them, they put their fingers in
03:51their ears, cover themselves with garments, persist, in denial, and behave arrogantly in extreme pride.
03:58Then I called them openly. Then I preached to them publicly and privately. In Surinah verses 21 to 27
04:07Allah continues. Nah said, My Lord, they have disobeyed me and followed those whose wealth and
04:14children only increase them in loss. They plotted a great plot. And they said, Never leave your God,
04:21gods, Wad, Suwa, Yagath, Yuck, and Nasser. They have led many astray, and you, O Allah,
04:28increase the wrongdoers in nothing but error. Because of their sins, they were drowned and
04:34entered the fire. They found none to help them against Allah. And Naz said, My Lord, do not leave
04:41upon the earth any of the disbelievers. If you leave them, they will mislead your servants and give birth
04:47only to wicked disbelievers. After centuries of patience and preaching, Allah decided to punish the
04:56disbelievers. Allah told Nah, Elias Salaam, that no more people from his nation would believe.
05:04He was commanded to build an ark, a large ship to carry a pair of every living creature and his
05:10believing family and followers. While building the ark, people mocked and ridiculed him daily.
05:17They disbelieved and asked mockingly, Why are you building a boat? There's no sea or river here where
05:24it can float. They made a joke out of Nah's mission and Allah's commands. This event is described in the
05:31Quran, where Allah says, So we inspired him, Construct the ark under our eyes and by our revelation.
05:39And when our command comes and the oven gushes forth, with water, take on board a pair of every
05:45species in your family, except those against whom the word has already gone forth. Do not plead with
05:52me for those who have wronged, they will surely be drowned. And when you and those with you have
05:58boarded the ark, say, Praise be to Allah, who has saved us from the wrongdoing people.
06:04Surah al-Mummanin, verses 27 and 28. Also in Surahad, verses 37 to 48.
06:13Construct the ark under our watch, and as we instruct, and do not address me concerning the
06:18wrongdoers, they will be drowned. He began building the ark, and whenever the chiefs of his people passed
06:25by him, they mocked him. He said, If you mock us now, we will surely mock you later just as you mock us.
06:34Soon you will know who will be seized by a humiliating punishment, and who will face an everlasting
06:40torment. When our command came and water gushed from the earth, we said, Load into the ark too of
06:46every species, your family, except those against whom the decree has already passed, and the believers.
06:53But few believed with him. He said, Board it! In the name of Allah, it's sailing and anchoring.
07:02My Lord is indeed most forgiving, most merciful. The ark sailed with them amid waves like mountains.
07:10Now called out to his son, who stood apart, O my son! Come aboard with us, and do not be with
07:17the disbelievers. He replied, I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the water.
07:24Nuz said, There is no protector today from the command of Allah except for whom he shows mercy.
07:31Then a wave came between them, and he was among the drowned. And it was said, O earth! Swallow your
07:39water! And, O sky! Withhold your rain! The water subsided, the matter was settled, and the ark rested
07:48on Mount Judy. And it was said, Away with the wrongdoing people! Now called out to his Lord,
07:56O my Lord, my son is of my family, and your promise is true, and you are the most just of judges.
08:03Allah said, O na, he is not of your family. His conduct was unrighteous. So do not ask me about
08:11that of which you have no knowledge. I warn you not to be among the ignorant.
08:17Nuz said, O my Lord, I seek refuge in you from asking about that of which I have no knowledge.
08:24If you do not forgive me and have mercy on me, I will be among the losers.
08:28It was said, O na! Descend with peace from us and blessings upon you and upon the nations
08:36from those with you. There will be other nations to whom we will grant enjoyment for a while,
08:42but then a painful punishment will touch them from us. When the flood came by Allah's command,
08:48those who believed with Nub boarded the ark and survived, while the disbelievers drowned.
08:53This was Allah's punishment and the consequence of rejecting him.
09:00The flood lasted forty days and forty nights, cleansing the earth of corruption. When the
09:06waters receded, the ark came to rest on Mount Judy, which is believed to be located between modern-day
09:13Iraq and Turkey. Prophet Nuh alayhi salam and his followers disembarked, grateful to Allah for his
09:20protection. Humanity started anew from these faithful survivors. This story teaches us that
09:27following Allah's command may be difficult and full of trials, but it is always the right path.
09:34Patience and trust in Allah are essential. Nuh alayhi salam remained patient in delivering his
09:41message and was ultimately granted victory by Allah. Prophet Nuh alayhi salam had three sons,
09:48Sam, Ham, and Yapheth, Japheth. Each played a significant role in the future of mankind.
09:56Sam, Shem, was a devout believer and an ancestor to many prophets including Ibrahim,
10:02alayhi salam. Ham settled in Africa. Some of his descendants remained believers,
10:08while others returned to disbelief. Yapheth, Japheth, spread out toward Europe and Asia.
10:15Many of his descendants also embraced monotheism. However, not all descendants of Nuh alayhi salam
10:23stayed on the right path. Two tribes, Gog and Magog, Yujuj and Majuj, became agents of corruption and
10:32chaos. Yujuj and Majuj, mentioned in the Quran, are described as corrupt and destructive. They have been
10:40a threat since the time of Nuh alayhi salam. Later, Allah commanded a righteous leader named
10:47Tul Karnain to build a barrier to contain them. Though they remain confined for now, they will
10:53reappear near the end times, as mentioned in Islamic eschatology. Their emergence will be one of the
11:00major signs of the day of judgment. After completing his mission, Nuh alayhi salam, passed away at the age
11:07of nearly thousand years, having witnessed both the destruction of disbelievers and the rebirth of
11:13humanity in Allah's path. His legacy remains a symbol of steadfast faith and perseverance. Today, Muslims
11:22honor Nuh alayhi salam as one of the greatest prophets.
