00:00Welcome back to Ireland in View, where we bring you Ireland today.
00:04We see a lot of places along the South Coast, Wild Atlantic Way, get missed by visitors.
00:09Today, we're taking you on an epic road trip from the rugged Barra Peninsula to the magical Valencia Island.
00:17Along the way, we'll explore Kinsale, Kenmare, Dingle, and more.
00:21Be warned, you might want to get a hard copy map.
00:24Internet access is patchy where we are going.
00:27So, grab your map, pack your bags, and let's hit the road.
00:31We will only recommend places we have been to ourselves.
00:35The most stunning places are not always publicized or easy to get to.
00:40But we promise these places are really worth seeing.
00:43You won't be disappointed.
00:46Ireland's Southwest Coast is a treasure trove of stunning landscapes.
00:50The Wild Atlantic Way brings over 2 million visitors to Ireland's rugged West Coast every year, from Cork to Donegal.
00:57Our journey begins in the picturesque fishing village of Kinsale, known as the gourmet capital of Ireland.
01:03This vibrant town is a feast for the senses, with its colorful buildings, award-winning restaurants, and rich maritime history.
01:11Take a stroll along the harbor, visit the historic Charles Fort, and indulge in some fresh seafood at one of the local eateries.
01:18Kinsale is the perfect place to refuel before the next leg of our journey.
01:24We can highly recommend the Kinsale Hotel and Spa, one of the best hotels in Kinsale, with spectacular view to the Atlantic Ocean.
01:33They have self-catering chalets close by for families.
01:36No trip to Ireland's Southwest Coast is complete without a visit to Misson Head, the country's most southwesterly point.
01:44Known as the Edge of Ireland, this dramatic headland offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline.
01:52Walk across the iconic arched bridge to the Signal Station, where you can learn about the area's maritime history and even spot whales or dolphins in the distance.
02:01On a clear day, you can see all the way to Fastnet Rock, known as the Teardrop of Ireland.
02:07Misson Head is a must-visit for anyone seeking the wild beauty of Ireland's coast.
02:12And while there, do not also forget the beautiful Dunlop Castle on Three Castle Head.
02:17Open from the 1st of April to 7th of January each year.
02:21Next, let's take you along the Barra Peninsula to the picturesque town of Castletown Bear.
02:26Barra Peninsula is a hidden gem that's often overlooked by tourists.
02:31We are wondering why.
02:33Start your day with a drive along the Healy Pass, a winding mountain road that offers jaw-dropping views of the surrounding valleys and lakes.
02:42Don't miss the charming village of Alighys, with its colorful houses and rich copper mining history.
02:48This is Ireland at its most raw and beautiful.
02:52Castletown Bear is one of Ireland's largest fishing towns and is filled with quaint shops and pubs that have not changed in many years.
02:59Castletown Bear is a close-knit, hard-working fishing community where the challenges of deep-sea fishing have molded a community where you will find what we might call old-fashioned human values, a place to relax and soak in the tranquility.
03:13By the way, if you are enjoying our videos where we look at Irish life today, can we ask you to follow, subscribe, and share?

03:23Next, we make our way to Kenmare, a charming town nestled at the foot of the Ring of Kerry.
03:30Known for its picturesque streets and friendly locals, Kenmare is a place where you will find many nationalities living and making visitors' lives more magical with their own native culture.
03:42There are French, Dutch, and Americans, to name a few.
03:47Kenmare is a great place to relax and soak in the atmosphere.
03:50Don't miss the ancient stone circle on the outskirts of town.
03:54It's a fascinating glimpse into Ireland's prehistoric past.
03:58Grab a coffee or a pint at Peter Crowley's, have a sing-song, enjoy the crack, and explore its many restaurants, galleries, souvenir shops, or play a round of golf and enjoy the laid-back vibe.
04:08Mulcahy's Fine Restaurant on the Main Street is well worth a visit also.
04:12You won't be disappointed.
04:14It has great hotels like the Lansdowne or the Park, plenty of bed and breakfasts, and lots of self-catering accommodation.
04:21Our next stop is the Dingle Peninsula, a place that feels like stepping into a storybook.
04:27Drive the famous Sleahead Loop for some of the most stunning coastal views in Ireland.
04:32Stop and explore the sheep farm and the beehive ancient homes.
04:36Take a dip in the sea, in its many fine beaches, and end your day in Dingle Town, where colourful buildings, fresh seafood, and lively pubs await.
04:46This is Ireland at its most magical.
04:49We will have a link to a great self-catering home in the description, within a short walk from the town.
04:55Our final destination is the Kerry Cliffs and Valencia Island, a place that feels like the edge of the world.
05:02The Kerry Cliffs are colourful with breathtaking views of the Blasket Islands.
05:06Connected to the mainland by a small bridge and a ferry, Valencia Island is a haven of peace and natural beauty.
05:14Take a drive along the Skellig Ring for breathtaking views of the Skellig Islands, made famous by Star Wars.
05:20Visit the old Slate Quarry and admire the stunning views right at the top of the island.
05:25Explore the island's rugged coastline.
05:28Visit the historic lighthouse and soak in the tranquility.
05:32It's the perfect way to end our road trip.
05:35The old Coast Guard cottages are there for those wishing to self-cater and, of course, the famous Knightstown Hotel.
05:41And for hikers, Bray Head is a must.
