00:13team at Kinnaird Butchers picking up a diamond accolade for their Belmoral pie at the Scotch

00:19Pie Awards and the one who eats them as a Falkirk teacher is chosen as Aldi's first official pie

00:25taster. Residents have been asked to tell Falkirk Council what they would like to see in the new

00:30Civic Centre planned for the heart of the town as public consultation gets underway.

00:36It was celebration time this week as not one but two of our oldest residents turned 100.

00:43Happy birthday to Trudy Roy and Olive Jack. In politics the SNP has announced its candidates

00:50to contest next year's Holyrood elections for Falkirk West and the new seat of Falkirk East

00:55in Malithgow and neither are strangers to local politics. Two nurses who work in Denny are preparing

01:02to step out on the West Handel Way to raise funds for a local charity that helps fight loneliness in

01:07the town. There were lots of events in the area to mar the 80th anniversary of VEE Day when the war

01:14in Europe came to an end in 1945 and we've got images from lots of them. All ages came together

01:21for street parties, teas, parades and services to mark the important anniversary. We've also got

01:27photographs from the first Bowness Fair fundraising 5k and from some of the events taking place at Falkirk

01:33Science Festival as well as the reopening of a limerick play park. In the retro section historian Ian Scott

01:40takes us on the final stage of his fascinating stroll around the circular route of the trams in their

01:45heyday from Bainsford Bridge to Falkirk. In sport we've got Stennis Muir boss Gary Naismith's reflections

01:52on the club's season in league one after they lost out in the playoffs to Airdrie, Falkirk

01:57Calvin Miller being named Scottish Championship Player of the Year. We've also got photographs of the recent
