00:11hope for to set the stage for what we still have outstanding here in round two of the stanley cup

00:17postseason we've got a double header of game five action tonight we've got two more game fives

00:22tomorrow and a lone game in the stanley cup postseason to recap from yesterday as well joe

00:29as always thanks for joining us here on tel yeah absolutely excited to break down these games

00:34today and what a game out of the dallas stars and grandland last night didn't expect that i expected

00:40a lot more out of jake ottinger but he's or sorry connor hellebuck but he's just not getting the

00:45support from his defense out there so hard one last night ben it's been tough for the winnipeg jets joe

00:52they are looking in a terrible way to continue the president's trophy curse if the jets are ousted

00:58here in round number two 12 consecutive president's trophies winners with the best record in the

01:04national hockey league in the regular season will fail to even reach the stanley cup final and only

01:11two of those 12 have even reached the conference finals and joe that was the story last night dallas

01:16taking a commanding 3-1 series lead on home ice with a 3-1 win in game number four the stars now a

01:24hefty favorite at minus 12 50 to advance to the western conference finals what have the stars done

01:30so well to attack that jets defense an outstanding net minder in connor hellebuck well you look at the

01:38dallas stars and what they're able to do out there they've completely shut down the winnipeg jets on the

01:43power play we know this is a team on the power play that was best in the regular season now that power

01:49plays gone something like one of 16 in the playoffs here ben and the stars are just absolutely coming

01:56out so strong they were able to convert on two of their power play opportunities they're aggressive and

02:00they're getting that puck to the net now connor hellebuck did have a better night than we've seen

02:05out of them out there on the road he didn't allow those rebounds to come in and he didn't give them

02:11the second chances but when the dallas stars were able to go on that power play after that first week

02:16goal we were able to see them convert and we were able to see them convert another one

02:20in um five on five hockey so i'm looking for a stronger performance when they return if we're

02:27looking at the three teams that have their backs up against the wall i do think the winnipeg jets

02:32over vegas and washington absolutely have the chance to bounce back going back to their home ice

02:37it's going to be a different game we know how strong connor hellebuck can be he just really has to

02:43bring it three of those four series on the screen joe a team holds a 3-1 series lead we'll get to

02:49that in just a second mikhail grandland he had the hat trick last night for dallas not miko ranted and

02:55everybody performing very well for the dallas stars right now the jets will play in a fifth game tomorrow

03:01back in winnipeg a slight home ice favorite to stave off elimination two game fives tonight we'll get to

03:08the leafs in just a moment the edmonton oilers a 3-1 series lead over the vegas golden knights

03:14and a slight road ice favorite instant or road ice underdog i should say instant city tonight but joe

03:21edmonton not only a 3-1 series lead with a chance to clinch they've won the first two games in las

03:27vegas will they clinch the series tonight against the golden knights i think they absolutely have the

03:32opportunity to be able to do so here i think they probably get a 4-2 win in this one you look at the

03:38vegas golden knights and they are not showing that aggressiveness offensively and if they can't put

03:43that pressure on stuart skinner they have no opportunity of getting the win here i do think

03:48edmonton closes out this series i'll take their team total over two and a half goals and edmonton

03:54to win this game tonight the canes a commanding 3-1 lead over the caps game five tomorrow the hurricanes

04:00heavily favored to advance to the eastern conference finals but joe let's go to toronto the maple leafs who

04:06won their first two games in the six lost their next two games against the reigning stanley cup

04:11champs in the ford panthers down in sunrise how critical is home ice advantage tonight in toronto

04:18home ice is so critical is what you just said we've seen the home team win every single one of these

04:23first four games but the momentum is really a shift to the cats here i do think the florida panthers

04:28have the ability to go into toronto and pull off this win this is a pivotal game five with whoever wins

04:45couple of games and i do think he'll be able to find the back of the net i expect the panthers to win

04:49this 4-2 style game so leafs team total under two and a half looks great at plus 102

04:54and florida a minus 142 road money line favor tonight against the leafs both teams two wins away

05:02but the leafs two wins away from advancing to the conference finals for the first time
