A Queensland mother has been charged with three counts of murder over a fatal house fire in Toowoomba in which three of her children died. The blaze took the lives of two girls aged 4 and 7 and a 9-year-old boy.

00:00Police have today announced a significant update in their investigation.
00:06They've charged a 36-year-old woman with murder following a deadly house fire at Harris Town, west of Brisbane, that killed her three children.
00:16Her nine-year-old son was killed in the blaze and her two daughters, aged four and seven, later died in hospital after suffering critical injuries.
00:26Now, two men, one aged 18, the other aged 34 and a young boy, managed to escape the blaze and have since been released from hospital.
00:36So today, police announced that significant update.
00:40Almost a week after the tragedy, they have charged the 36-year-old woman who they alleged is responsible.
00:48Her name, Eloisa Patricia Brighton, and she now faces three counts of murder, domestic violence,
00:54as well as attempted murder and one count of arson.
00:59So earlier today, police released a statement to say that they're also not looking for anyone else in connection to this incident.
01:06Now, the 36-year-old remains in the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
01:11She's believed to be in a critical condition due to the seriousness of those injuries.
01:17She did not appear when her matter was heard in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this afternoon, and it's been adjourned until Friday.
