00:45Mr. Speaker, pursuant to House Resolution 377, I'll call up HR 276 and ask for its immediate

00:51consideration in the House.

00:53The Clerk will report the title of the bill.

00:55Pursuant to House Resolution 377, the amendment in the nature of a substitute recommended

01:06by the Committee on Natural Resources, printed in the bill, is adopted, and the bill as amended

01:10is considered red.

01:12The bill as amended shall be debatable for one hour, equally divided and controlled by the

01:15Chair and ranking minority member of the Committee on Natural Resources or their respective designees.

01:58This legislation codifies a portion of President Trump's Executive Order 14172, which directed

02:04the Board on Geographic Names to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.

02:10President Trump signed this executive order on his first day in office.

02:14Enacting this legislation will help make President Trump's historic action permanent and ensure consistency

02:20in references to laws, maps, regulations, and records of the United States.

02:25The Gulf of America is critical to the United States because of its energy resources and

02:32This renaming symbolizes Republicans' commitment to putting America first and honors the Gulf of
