‘The Time To Get This Done Is Now’: Emmer Calls GOP Budget A Chance To ‘Get America Back On Track’

At a House Republican press briefing on Tuesday, Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) spoke about the GOP budget reconciliation bill.

00:03This week, House Republicans face a historic moment that has the potential to revive the American dream

00:09and solidify the comeback that has already begun under President Donald J. Trump.

00:15From our nation's farmers to police officers working 60 hours a week,

00:20from America's top manufacturers to small businesses on Main Street,

00:25our one big, beautiful bill holds promise for every American.

00:30In fact, nearly 1,000 organizations, nearly 1,000 organizations,

00:36have already expressed support for the policies within the bill.

00:40The Job Creators Network described our reconciliation bill as, quote,

00:44exactly what the country needs to jumpstart the economy

00:48and guarantee the safety and prosperity of Americans for decades to come, end quote.

00:54The National Association of Manufacturers said of this landmark legislation, quote,

01:00we need certainty now, and this is the moment to deliver one big, beautiful bill that lets us compete and win, end quote.

01:09Their warning could not be more true.

01:11The time to get this done is now.

01:14Not only does this legislation make the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent and implement no tax on tips and overtime pay,

01:24it also unleashes American energy, cuts waste, fraud, and abuse,

01:29and allows President Trump to continue his successful deportation and border security operations.

01:35And that's only naming a handful of things this bill accomplishes.

01:40Our reconciliation bill delivers on President Trump's America First agenda.

01:45And it does so while saving the American people over $1.6 trillion.

01:50The one big, beautiful bill is truly a once-in-a-generation chance to get America back on track.

01:58House Republicans must seize this opportunity and quickly.
