House Republicans abruptly postponed a late evening vote on their budget framework as grave misgivings from conservative GOP lawmakers threw it in flux.

00:00Delaying this vote in a symbolic protest only weakens our ability to act.

00:11The American people voted for bold action, Mr. Speaker, and President Trump and us in

00:18Mr. Speaker, the proposal that we're hearing from the other side is reckless and irresponsible.

00:24What they're saying is what they usually say.

00:27Let's complain about the size of the national debt and then let's borrow the money for tax

00:34cuts to go to people at the very top.

00:38I defy anybody on this side to say right now that that's not what happened in 2017.

00:43We want to ensure and have commitments amongst ourselves that we're going to find a requisite

00:47number of savings while also protecting essential programs.

00:51We're not going to cut Medicare, Social Security, or Medicaid.

00:53Don't believe the lies about that.

00:55Anybody who's an eligible beneficiary will be protected in this process.

00:58But there are a lot of other savings in fraud, waste, and abuse in all these other areas

01:02that we are identifying and will continue to identify.
