00:00Israel was shut out of these discussions. It turns out that the United States has been holding
00:05direct talks with a terror group, with Hamas, at least for a few days, trying to get this gesture
00:13sewn up, a gesture ahead of Donald Trump's visit to the region, where he also will be skipping over
00:20a visit to Israel, instead visiting Qatar, where the U.S. has a major base and that has been the
00:26major supporter of Hamas, the United Arab Emirates, and most importantly, for Donald Trump, Saudi
00:32Arabia. So the Israeli government apparently got a hint of this earlier today. We started hearing
00:38rumors, but was shut out of the discussions. And now what we're hearing tomorrow is that Donald
00:44Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, will be coming. Steve Witkoff is the man who called Israeli families
00:51tonight, the Alexander family to inform them that he thinks he secured their son's freedom,
00:57and the other families, the Israeli families who don't have foreign passports, to inform them that
01:03in his opinion, Prime Minister Netanyahu is extending this war for political reasons and putting their
01:09children's lives in danger. He's expected in Israel tomorrow to tie up loose ends, though it's unclear
01:14what they'll be, since Israel is not expected to release any Palestinian prisoners in exchange
01:20for Edan Alexander's release.
