00:13:58It has a very ambitious number of flags and checks, and the areas available to explore are quite expansive.
00:14:02It's also just a fucking long game, like, Nami's games up to this point can be completed in about two hours, but my recording of this game is up to, like, six hours.
00:14:10This is like the second longest visual novel I've ever played.
00:14:13It's also really useful at just breaking up the story, as you enter this rhythm of dialogue and gameplay so neither situation overstays its welcome for too long.
00:14:21It's this very well-thought-out ebb and flow of gameplay, more so than any of her other games, and it really works.
00:14:26It makes the whole experience just mwah.
00:14:28And there's still more to come. The main plot cliffhangs at a point where Sierra promises to do something that is borderline impossible for Gumdrop, and so there's a long way to go.
00:14:36Out of all the visual novels I've played, I am eagerly looking forward to how this game ends, and it has quickly shot up to being my favorite.

00:52:37Syrup 2 is pheno- Syrup 2 is a phenomenally good game in its own right.
00:52:50Building off some of Nami's most interesting characters and dealing with a variety of heavy subject matter, all without having to sacrifice in the gameplay department either.
00:52:59As a cozy workaday life simulator, it's probably the best mixture of story and gameplay, where the gameplay isn't an overly complicated mess of recipes and ingredients, and the story is both expertly lean and fascinatingly deep.
