00:00One clip I thought was pretty cool from last week at Hilton Head in the winning interview, Justin Thomas was asked, hey, have you played with Andrew Novak before?
00:07It's like, yeah, I actually joined up with him and Ben Griffin at the Travelers last year and Novak had shot in 59 that day.
00:14So he was like, yeah, I've seen him play before. He played really good. It's him and Ben Griffin. We're just going at it that afternoon.
00:20Yeah. Yeah. And it's interesting, too, because I think it's a guy in Andrew where we've talked about so many episodes this year of just being so close and trying to kind of find, you know, what that first PGA Tour win is going to be and how are you going to make that breakthrough?
00:34And it's sort of a soft entry to this in a way of having a guy there who also plays on tour, who can help manage your emotions or pick you up when you're not hitting it well.
00:44And, you know, people talk about whether or not a team win is fully legitimate or counts as a PGA Tour win.
00:51Of course, it doesn't in a statistical sense. But in some ways, it's like it's nice to get this one one and in the books to kind of take some of the pressure off.
00:59Because, I mean, I don't think this is it for Andrew Novak. I mean, going into this week, he was 11th on the Ryder Cup point standings.
01:08You know, like it wouldn't be a stretch at all. He would have to be one of the six captains picks, but it wouldn't be a stretch at all to make him a captains pick, given his form and his place on that list.
01:17This is a guy whose game is trending in a huge way. I know we kind of texted about this offline, like how close to I don't think you can call him a lock right now with three majors left.
01:27But like this guy's on your team right now, is he not?
01:30Oh, it's it's still way too early to say whether he should or should not be on the team.
01:36You remember this guy? I don't. How many majors is Andrew Novak played into this point?
01:43You know, I don't think he's played more than than two would be my guess.
01:49I think his whole. Wow. Probably chance or what do you got for me?
01:56He's played one major, the 2022 U.S. Open and missed the cut.
02:00So if we're being fair here and not being prisoner of the moment and not just being just looking at how Andrew's played this, you know, the beginning of the season, I was very critical in that.
02:14I didn't think Luke's Glover should have been on the team in Rome because he didn't play in any of the majors that season.
02:19He didn't qualify for any of them, but he had a really nice hot streak at the end of the year.
02:24I know, you know, speaking with captains and all of this and and learning about how they pick these rosters, they use a lot of data and analytics to see how players match up with other guys.
02:38And I know, you know, this, but some guys just don't match up with other players and some guys fit the bill perfectly.
02:45You know, there's there could be a let's just use a random name, a Wyndham Clark, right?
02:50Who's obviously a super talented player, but he he may be a guy that matches up really well with a guy who may not have had a better season than an Andrew Novak.
03:00I don't I don't know what the answer is going to be as of now, but he was 11th on the on the points list coming into the week.

03:11Well, he now has an opportunity to because he's inside the top 50 in the official world golf rankings.
