00:20But he'll post stories of you know, very deep dense texts, you know books. He's reading. They have nothing to do with the game of golf

00:27he's just curious about learning things when he when you had him on the show we were talking to him and I think it

00:32Was the the meme was the the the Roman Empire or something?

00:36He's like no, I like to think about ancient societies and I'm going on a tour with my mom. Okay, Vic

00:40That's that's interesting. That's unique

00:42That's different and obviously he was at the height of his powers after winning the tour championship and then kind of went chasing

00:48You know trying to pull the yarn a little bit on a string the last year year plus and and it's not gone well for

00:53Him in that interim period and then coming into this year

00:56I mean his last six starts worldwide misses a cut in Dubai finished tied for 22nd at the AT&T

01:02Miscut the Genesis miscut at the API miscut of players and then shows up this week and wins

01:08He talked about hitting some disgusting shots this week

01:11He had a quote that said I wasn't even sure I was gonna play or not until I got here Tuesday afternoon and played a late

01:16Nine holes played nine holes in the pro-am next morning and we were here ready to go

01:19And it goes out and wins a golf tournament. What did you?

01:23This week from Vic despite all that is where he has in a mental space

01:26What impressed you most about his willingness or his ability to kind of work through all that and go win a golf tournament?

01:31Yeah, I mean, that's that's a great place to start with Victor. I'll say that at Bay Hill

01:35I watched him for like 30 minutes practice on the short game area with a different coach

01:40I don't know which coach it was it wasn't Grant Waite. So

01:43But he's dropped another coach

01:46I think he said he's texting grant weight videos this week. So that's the latest on his coaching. Yeah, so

01:51So Shane I who's I think at one of the more

01:55Under 80 caddies on the PGA Tour just fantastic, dude. I think it is a really great job

02:01his uh, he was kind of taking Victor through short game drills and

02:06they were going all around the green and there was a

02:09Like a target goal that that Victor was trying to achieve with every single shot as far as how close it needed to be

02:16and so they did that for

02:18You know, I watched for like 20 30 minutes and they kept rolling with it

02:22But I think when a player like like him who his short game greatly improved with Joe Mayo

02:29I think that was like one of the things that that totally, you know

02:33Shot up his career because his ball striking had always been there and now we got the short game that complements it

02:39So when Victor goes down these rabbit holes over the last year with his golf swing all of a sudden

02:44You've seen that short game really dip

02:46And so I think just the work that he's put in really at the beginning this four to swing realizing

02:52Hey, if I'm gonna like score and be somewhat decent, I need to have a good short game again

02:57Victor's always I felt like a really good putter and hasn't putted. Well, he's changed putters a couple different times back with old trustee

03:06And then I think that the chipping this week if you go look at the stats man, the scrambling stats were really good

03:12Back to you know where he was the from a bogey avoidance

03:18Statistics, you know right before I went out in the golf course. I was in the booth earlier in the day

03:22He really started to see that, you know, he I think he was leading that that category as far as not having many bogeys

03:28I think he only had

03:29Four or five on the week. So on that golf course really really good stuff
