00:00I'd have to talk a little bit about NBC and the U.S. Open and the Ryder Cup coming up our schedule.
00:07How pumped are you?
00:08I mean, I tell everybody, I think the events that we have at NBC, you know, throw in the players with that.
00:15And, of course, the playoffs.
00:17We get to call some pretty fun events.
00:20There's no doubt about it.
00:22And this year, you know, with the domination with Rory and Scotty, the two best players in the world, continuing, it would be unbelievable to see those two guys play.
00:32Throw in Bryson, man.
00:33They play in totally different ways.
00:37I played in the 1983 U.S. Open at Oakmont as an amateur.
00:42It was my last.
00:44Yeah, I just graduated from Furman.
00:46I played on the Walker Cup.
00:47I qualified, and I've never seen anything as more difficult than Oakmont.
00:53And I think Oakmont likes to brag that they slow the greens down for the U.S. Open.
00:58I think they could, they say, all we need is two weeks to prepare.
01:01We don't need to grow any rough because it's always tough.
01:04This year, the rough is already a foot high.
01:08And if, you know, if you ask anybody, what's the hardest course you played?
01:13And I don't mean in miserable conditions where it's cold or windy, but just on a standard day.
01:17I always say the three hardest courses in America start with Oak.
01:22Oakmont, where we're going to see the open.
01:24Oak Linde Hills and Oak Hill.
01:27They're just so hard.
01:28But Oakmont is above and beyond the hardest course I've ever played.
01:33I have yet to be on site to see that renovated course by Gil Hance and what he's done.
01:39But everybody tells me how hard it is.
01:41We're going to see 300-yard par threes.
01:44I can't imagine how long it's going to take to play some of these rounds.
