00:00Janelle and I would be out there working our tails off trying to prepare breakfast sweeping up all the mess while Robin would spend what seemed like an eternity applying makeup doing her hair and ensuring the kids were picture perfect and Cody would just sit there and go on and on about how great they look while we were sweating bullets cooking food and picking up the campsite.
00:22Honestly, that could be partly the reason why I came to despise camping so much. Hi friends, it's Katie. Welcome back to my channel. You know what makes me laugh? The fact that Robin Brown is finally being held accountable for so many of the things we've all been discussing here for years, particularly the entire concept that Cody and Robin treated the other wives like servants while Robin just sat back and looked good.
00:47In that first clip, you can actually hear Christine explaining to David how Cody always wanted his wives to appear a certain way, dress up, look good, and that if she didn't, she felt taken for granted. Robin naturally spent tons of time on her looks and Cody would always throw it in their faces.
01:04This is just one instant. This specific moment during a camping trip that was featured on the show. I think it was season four when they went to Big Bear in California over the 4th of July. Robin was pregnant at the time, so this must have been around 2010 or 2011. Think about that. It's over a decade ago. The scene was filmed in 2023 or 2024, so it's about 13 years old now.
01:31But that memory clearly stuck with Christine. That moment only illustrates how Cody appeared to always make it seem like Robin was the prettiest, the best, the one who did everything right. Naturally, every one of the women has had a unique experience, and they're all at different points in moving beyond that dynamic.
01:49Some confess it impacted them, and some, such as Janelle, claim it didn't. But really, I don't believe that. I mean, Janelle spent several seasons focusing on her health, attempting to lose weight, feel better about herself, and be more beautiful. It was a huge part of her narrative on the show.
02:05And when she finally did lose weight, all of a sudden, she and Cody were experiencing this so-called renaissance in Vegas. So, yeah, I think it bothered her more than she's admitting.
02:16Then you've got Mary, who said Cody would go out and buy them clothes because he wanted them to look nice. Sure, that can sound sweet. But when your husband is picking your wardrobe and you're dressing up just for his approval, that can be a little controlling.
02:28We've seen other public figures do the same thing, try to manage their partner's appearance to an obsessive level. One of the themes here in this most recent episode was that one of the others was the deconstruction of relationships between Mary, Janelle, and Robin.
02:43Those discussions were sort of interspersed throughout the episode, and Robin, instead of having actual discussions with the other women, just answered on her one-on-one interview.
02:52The producers evidently were asking her about where things are with her and Mary now. As expected, Robin took it as an opportunity to play victim, accusing Mary and claiming the reason they're no longer close is that Mary spoke trash about her on the internet.
03:08Here, I'll give you a clip. So basically, what Jen is saying is that had the cameras not been present and had Cody and Nathan not arrived, then Robin probably wouldn't have arrived with this big showy gift.
03:20By that time, Cody and I were broken up. It was finished, and then Robin comes by herself, and she is being all upset and wanting to speak.
03:28We went in and sat down and spoke. What Jen's trying to say is that Robin only appeared because the cameras were rolling, and because Cody was present, like she needed to keep an eye on him, just to ensure nothing was happening between him and Mary.
03:42Mary even said something to the effect of, we were already broken up, and then Robin appeared, as if Robin was jealous, or acting for the cameras.
03:52Robin has a track record of dropping by on the other wives when Cody's around, like she's gotta keep an eye on him.
03:58She even made a joke about that early in the show, and to be honest, there's some validity to it.
04:04If the cameras aren't rolling, Robin doesn't care.
04:06That's the undertone here. Everyone had the opportunity to form genuine connection, but Robin always had an excuse.
04:13They're essentially implying. Without so much as saying it, Robin only pretended to be friends with them in the name of the show, and that's literally disgusting.
04:23Robin even stated,
04:23I don't know how to be friends with my ex-husband's wife, and I'm like, yeah, because you never actually tried.
04:30Her husband's my ex, you know?
04:32I don't think there'd be a lot of talking we'd need to do before we could even consider being friends again.
04:38To be honest, I don't think she'd be completely honest with, and I'm not sure that she'd want to hear what I have to tell her either.
04:44To me, it's just so indicative that now it's 2024, and Mary is finally in a position where she's free of Robin and Cody's gaslight.
04:53She's got a new life. She's with real friends who believe her, and she's finally beginning to tell the truth.
04:59A truth that all of us have been telling for years.
05:02Like, even if she did have a sit-down with Robin, would Robin even be honest?
05:07Would she own up to anything?
05:08I don't think so, and I know this is just conjecture, but I really do believe Mary still has questions about many things.
05:16First of all, I believe she has questions regarding the legal divorce.
05:20There's always been this cloud of suspicion hanging over Cody and Robin's relationship, like, when did it begin, exactly?
05:27There are rumors, again, not confirmed, but very persistent, that they were involved before Mary was even in the picture.
05:34And the whole, Mary introduced them thing was just a storyline to cover it up.
05:39If that's true, then yeah, I'd want answers, too.
05:43And don't even get me started on the money.
05:45Let's get real. Who wouldn't wonder where all the money went?
05:48Why haven't you reimbursed me?
05:50What were you spending it on?
05:52That's not petty.
05:53That's just common sense.
05:54And then there's the really personal stuff, like their son Leon.
05:58Mary's son is transgender, and Cody and Robin have not been accepting of that.
06:03They say one thing in public, but behind closed doors?
06:06Whole different story.
06:08Mary is aware of that.
06:09She recognizes the hypocrisy, and so, when she says,
06:13I don't think Robin wants to hear what I'd say to her.
06:16I believe she's saying she's kept it all bottled up all these years.
06:20She recognizes the manipulation.
06:22She's witnessed the lie, the pretense, all of it.
06:24And if she ever did speak up to Robin, I believe she'd unleash it all.
06:29That's most likely why she doesn't believe Robin would be truthful.
06:32Because on some level, she thinks Robin's a liar.
06:35Now, are we ever going to see any kind of actual confrontation between them?
06:40Who knows?
06:40That would be great.
06:41But I wouldn't count on it.
06:42Because it sounds like they're not even talking anymore.
06:45And truthfully, Mary's flat out said she doesn't trust her.
06:49And why should she?
06:50Robin, naturally, is still over there playing the victim.
06:53During this episode, she claims she overheard that Mary was bat-mouthing her
06:57and making fun of her to friends.
06:58And she's so hurt.
07:00She says she's upset and doesn't believe Mary even wants a relationship.
07:03She even confesses there's a lot of pain and sorrow over their falling out.
07:08But come on.
07:09Robin playing the victim here is ridiculous.
07:12Mary has said things on her Instagram.
07:14Sure.
07:14And she's shared thoughts on the show.
07:16Maybe she's spoken to Jen about Robin, too.
07:19But Robin pretending she's this poor, wounded soul.
07:22When she literally took Mary's husband and is now mad that Mary doesn't want to be friends.
07:28It's delusional.
07:29Especially when the whole plural marriage thing is starting to look like a total scam.
07:34That's what Mary's insinuating more and more.
07:37Like she's beginning to think the entire thing was some kind of setup.
07:41So, no.
07:42I don't see things reconciling anytime soon.
07:45Oh, and one thing before I forget.
07:48There was another section of the episode that really impressed me.
07:51I'm not gonna play the clip.
07:53But I have to discuss this.
07:54It finally registered with me how Christine and David's relationship clicks.
07:58It's because he understands.
08:00He grew up in polygamy.
08:01So he knows the emotional impact it had.
08:04He knows what she's gone through.
08:05And he's such a great sounding board for her.
08:08He listens.
08:09He lets her work things out.
08:10And honestly, that level of empathy and support, that's what she's needed all along.
08:15I believe that David is simply very even-tempered.
08:19He provides Christine with these realistic, down-to-earth answers.
08:22And most crucially, he affirms her in a way that no one else ever had.
08:27And that's what you require when you're emerging from an experience as traumatic as her.
08:32You require someone who will not only listen, but truly get and affirm your experience.
08:37Christine was telling this anecdote about how one of David's sisters grew up in a polygamist
08:43household.
08:43And he recalls waking up one morning to the sound of two sister wives fighting, literally
08:48fighting, over who had the better stereo.
08:51And he was appalled.
08:52He couldn't believe that was even a thing.
08:54But Christine was like, yeah, that used to happen in our family all the time.
08:59It was just normal to her.
09:01She confessed that she used to walk by Robin's home and see how nicer everything appeared
09:06there.
09:06Her furniture, decorations, clothes, yard.
09:09And she'd ask herself, why is everything nicer at her house?
09:13And the thing is, if Cody actually was treating all the wives the same, like he said, he would
09:18have been working with each of them to create a house together, assisting them all in building
09:23their own spaces, decorating their home, making it their own.
09:26But that's not what was going on.
09:28Christine's telling us that Cody wasn't appearing like that for her.
09:32He was preoccupied with Robin's place, spending money there, purchasing things for her, investing
09:37his time and energy there.
09:39Christine was left with the leftovers, emotionally, financially, everything.
09:44So now she's beginning to realize that the inequality created resentment and tension.
09:49It would be fascinating to know if there were ever full-blown blowups, such as actual shouting
09:55matches, about this sort of thing.
09:57But David is able to make her understand that this sort of dynamic, it's abnormal.
10:02You shouldn't have to fight with another woman for even-handedness in your own marriage.
10:06Then, naturally, Robin had to jump in and make a comment such as, well, if you're keeping
10:11score, how do you anticipate that is going to work in a relationship, which is rich coming
10:16from her?
10:17And then Cody mentioned something that just puts it all out there.
10:20He goes, when you have a really good relationship, they give you a cloak of charity.
10:25And I'm sitting here like, did you just confess that you love Robin more because she lies
10:30for you?
10:31Because that's what that is.
10:32He's saying Robin lies for him.
10:35Robin covers for him.
10:36Robin is helping to keep the secret and shore up the story.
10:40And why did Christine not do that?
10:42She wasn't compliant.
10:43She didn't simply go along with whatever Cody desired.
10:46So she received the leftover.
10:48He's essentially saying, you didn't work for my agenda.
10:51So I didn't put my best effort or attention towards you.
10:54That's not love.
10:55That's manipulation.
10:56And then there's the entire thing where Cody just never truly looks back at his action.
11:02It's always, well, I just loved Robin more or I was a fool.
11:06Like, okay, but what did you really do to help lead to this mess?
11:10Robin also had that moment when she stated she felt like the entire family was a failure.
11:15But rather than accept any actual responsibility, she began speaking of the family as this amorphous
11:21collective and I'm just thinking, girl, no, speak about yourself, take ownership of your role in all this.
11:27She claimed we couldn't overcome our jealousy, which aside, why on earth would you need to overcome jealous in a relationship where you're both sharing a man?
11:36That's not a healthy expectation, Robin.
11:38Then she added, we all got caught up in our own self-interest.
11:42And really, that was the most honest thing she ever said.
11:45Because yes, it sounds like she was only looking out for herself.
11:48She couldn't deal with Cody being with his other wives.
11:51She kept Tally and she had to know what he was doing and where he was at all times.
11:56That's the type of thing that breaks up family.
11:58There was obviously a great deal of unhealthy communication going on in that household.
12:03Too many fights that escalated too far.
12:06Name calling, jumping to conclusions, and just an absolute distrust of one another.
12:10And ultimately, that's what completely destroyed everything.
12:14This segment of the episode really did make me that sad because it just depicts how much was not going right.
12:21And yet, simultaneously, there was something that came off as so suspicious and in the best possible way.
12:27Because finally, they dealt with something many people have been discussing for years.
12:31Whether it's been in the Sister Wives Reddit thread, Facebook group, or even in the comments on my own video.
12:37People have been saying that my sister wife's closet is shady.
12:40I've had multiple people reach out saying they placed an order on the website, paid for it, and then nothing.
12:47No product, no communication, no refund.
12:50And when they try to follow up, cricket.
12:52Well, at last, Robin was compelled to acknowledge this on the show.
12:56Jen raised the fact that they've had messages from the person who purchased an item from the site and received nothing.
13:02Mary even stated that she snapped a photo of the message and forwarded it to Robin, stating she hopes Robin will actually refund the guy.
13:11Now, here's the thing.
13:12Mary, Christine, and Janelle have nothing to do with that business anymore.
13:17They don't own it.
13:17They don't have access to it.
13:19And they're not involved in any of the day-to-day.
13:22That means everything is on Robin.
13:24So, Robin finally confesses she put the business on hold.
13:28But here's the reality.
13:29She didn't just put it on hold.
13:30She shut down the company.
13:32It's no longer in operation.
13:34And yet, the website remains.
13:36The cart remains active.
13:37That means individuals can still visit the site, place items in their cart, send money, and unwittingly purchase from a non-existent business.
13:46And Robin confesses she knows this occurs.
13:48Occasionally, someone orders, and she must deal with it.
13:52Um, no, that is not how this works.
13:54If your business is no longer running, you must take down your site, remove the cart,
13:59turn off the Shopify integration.
14:01There is no reason to leave a site live that is essentially open to accept peep money for nothing.
14:07This is why I call it shady.
14:08And also why I'm actually relieved Mary brought it up.
14:11She essentially validated what so many fans have been claiming for years.
14:16Robin is accepting money from fans via a website that should no longer be operational.
14:21It's not merely a technical error.
14:24It's a trend.
14:24And now, Mary and Jen are left to clean up Robin's mess.
14:28Seriously though, why is the site still live?
14:31If there's no business, then there's no need for the cart to exist.
14:35It literally takes two seconds to unpublish a page or close down a store.
14:39Robin's got time to browse around all of it and furnish her home.
14:43She's got time to turn off a Shopify cart.
14:46It's that easy.
14:47So yeah, thank you Mary for finally speaking out on camera.
14:51Thank you for voicing what so many people have been attempting to say for so many years.
14:56Robin is scamming people with that website.
