00:00Sister Wives, according to Robin Brown. Yes, I do think we fell short. I feel like we weren't
00:06doing enough to tackle our jealous. Instead of focusing on ways to strengthen our community
00:11and build a bigger, better whole, it felt like everyone was more worried about taking care of
00:16themselves. In my opinion, we also weren't bringing God into the picture enough. This
00:21lifestyle is so complicated and hard. God definitely has to be involved in it. Much of
00:27what I saw left me thinking that we were doing things wrong. Hi friends, I'm Olivia. I hope
00:32you're doing well by God's grace. Subscribe to the channel and press the bell icon. We continue to
00:38put on an act to try to look normal, sticking our heads in the sand and hoping that nothing will
00:43ever come out. We justify our misdeeds by playing the game like nothing is wrong. At least that's
00:49how it goes for Robin and Cody. We're playing like we did nothing wrong. To add insult to injury,
00:55we're playing like Cody's other children, or at least all of the children, don't even exist. We're
01:00behaving as if there aren't any other women either. We're only concerned about our small
01:05family unit. And I know that even when one gets divorced and moves on, people still keep their
01:11families intact, right? Something absolutely terrible occurred in March 2024. One of their sons,
01:17Garrison Brown, died. When he passed away, several articles were released regarding how the show was going to
01:23address what would happen afterwards. As a fan, the initial reaction that came to us was that it was
01:29outrageous. Secondly, we thought, how in the world were they gonna do that? Garrison's final text messages
01:35were to production and some others he interacted with. In one of his final messages, he told me that
01:41he missed the good time. And because of that, he couldn't hate them the way he thought he would. He also
01:46sent an email with a still photo from when they did a paintball excursion for Caleb's bachelor party.
01:52It was quite nostalgic of the texts you were going through on the show and all the major things in
01:57your life. That show had such a terrible impact on his life, don't you think? A lot of us were
02:03wondering, how were they going to do this? It felt wrong. Afterwards, it was revealed that Cody didn't
02:08even go to Garrison's residence. He wasn't present at the scene. Gabriel had to fetch him. And even then,
02:14Cody didn't appear. He pretended as if he didn't even care. Or so it seemed. I mean,
02:19why wouldn't you go to your own son's residence? Logan Brown wound up having to step up to maintain
02:25order in the house. Logan and Janelle bore much of the responsibility for all of this. And we know
02:31it's such a delicate subject, particularly in polygamist and ex-polygamist community, where
02:36such deaths are often covered up because of shame and their belief. They've long been promoting this
02:42notion that, in spite of it all, their children grew up to be perfect. That they raised perfect kids
02:47with no actual bad effect, aside from not getting along. So, when we learned that they were going to
02:53continue taping, we thought that perhaps they would at least feature the loss of a child. Though the idea
02:59sickened us, perhaps they might raise awareness of it. We also know that some of the future episodes
03:04might deal with this, but the scene that they ended up actually filming for this plot was in May
03:102024. We know this because photographs leaked online. Images of Cody, Robin, and the children
03:17going about the streets of Flagstaff being followed by cameras. They seemed to be dressed up like they
03:23were going to Easter, but it was actually a dinner to commemorate Aurora's baptism at church,
03:28all shot in May 2024. There's not a hint from anyone in the family that there's any grief. No one even
03:36mentions the missing people. Cody doesn't appear to be considering anything. He doesn't appear sad.
03:41Rather, he appears smitten and cheerful, raving about how much in love he is with Robin, discussing
03:47how much the kids love him, and boasting about what a great family he had. And it's only two months
03:52since his son died. I get that you sometimes need to compartmentalize life, and I understand that you
03:58need to keep going forward. But just to continue without even recognizing what transpired? To then wish
04:04to kind of reframe the narrative like, well, yeah, I screwed up here, but don't look at that. Let's go
04:10here instead. That is just how Cody's whole storyline goes over for me. It's like Cody and Robin don't
04:16actually talk to anyone else anymore, because they don't want to confront the reality that they hurt
04:21people, that they hurt children and women. So instead, they just remain stuck in what they have now,
04:27so they don't have to confront the wreckage they left behind. But because of the show,
04:31they are forced to confront it, and it's so awkward. I'd like to share with you a couple
04:36of scenes. Yeah, maybe even their wedding vow. I mean, I think my wedding's going to be really
04:41high up there. Really? I'll be floating as long as I have enthusiasm. Isn't that so telling?
04:47We were raised by you two. What is that even? Just the experiences and the advice that you shared
04:53with us. We'd be idiots not to marry our soulmate. So yeah, she'll be floating. It's actually supposed
04:58to be a dinner to celebrate Aurora's baptism into her new church. But somehow, it gets transformed
05:05again into another moment about Cody and Robin being soulmate. It has to be draining to be in
05:11Cody and Robin's world, because regardless of what happened, things that are supposed to be about the
05:17kids end up getting turned around to Cody and Robin's relationship somehow. And perhaps that's
05:23because they don't really have any friends left to discuss their relationship with. I've noticed a
05:28very lack of friends this season. I mean, Cody's friend Brian? We haven't seen him. Nathan appeared
05:34for one minute to assist Mary with moving. But then? Where's Nathan? Where are Cody's real friends?
05:41Individuals that he could have conversations with about his divorce? I suppose that he did join up with
05:46his brothers earlier in the season. But now, it seems like all validation they need is by sitting
05:52down and discussing their love tale with their kids. And really, a lot of it does seem really
05:57calculated. Like they're doing it on purpose. Kind of like in a way to react to all this criticism.
06:03There's been a ton of criticism of Cody. About how he's a bad husband. About Robin being manipulative.
06:10About the two of them essentially destroying their entire world. They made the other wives so
06:15miserable. Making them feel they weren't pretty enough. Or making the children feel like they
06:20didn't count. You can see it plain as day. Just observe the manner in which Cody treats the children
06:25he has with Robin versus the other children. It's such a massive, glaring difference. He places Robin's
06:32children on this pedestal while making the others feel inferior. The only thing that makes sense to me
06:38is that this is why, in this episode, the producers highlighted how important it was for everyone to look good
06:44for Cody. Everyone's dressed up. The girls have their makeup done. Robin has her makeup on, of course.
06:50And I've noticed over the years, Robin always fusses with her hair. Constantly fixing it. She's always
06:56worried about her mascara not running. And that she appears good. And now we know, all of that was
07:02because Cody wanted his wives to appear good. Well, as good as Robin can appear, right you guys? Bad dumps.
07:09But, in all seriousness, everything now appears to be about attempting to repair the narrative.
07:15Attempting to present Cody as a good dad, rather than appearing to be the worst. All of this just
07:20feels like one giant damage control effort. And honestly, it feels strange. I do appreciate,
07:27though, the little jabs the editors are sneaking in. Attempting to juxtapose the crazy delusions
07:32Cody and Robin are living. There's one scene where they begin discussing soulmates. And somehow,
07:38somehow, they manage to make Robin the victim. It's crazy. You said it once to me, Cody states.
07:44And Robin says, I said it once and then saw how wrong it was. Cody's my soulmate. I love him.
07:49There's so much backlash tied to that. In so many ways, Robin attempts to brush it off like she didn't
07:55realize that she never had been married in a plural family before and just didn't know it wasn't a good
08:00thing to say. Because Cody had other why. But what's so crazy about this is that they're making
08:06like she said it only once. They're making like Cody never called Robin his soulmate either. But he
08:11did. Robin was on a tell-all a few years ago and made a statement that Cody wanted to share a soulmate
08:18relationship with all of his why. This soulmate discussion has been a monumental topic for seasons
08:23and seasons. It is not something new. So now, playing like, oh, I said it once years ago in season
08:30one and I didn't know any better. Come on, Robin. You're not the victim here. There was plenty of
08:35backlash. And rightly so. I mean, Cody already had wives when he introduced a woman 10 or 12 years
08:41younger than himself and paraded her around because she was thin and younger and he was convinced she
08:47was beautiful. And still today, you can observe the way he's dressing them up like doll. Like his
08:53daughters are his toy. Like his children are simply offshoots of himself. And that is what Christine
08:58and everybody else were attempting to articulate. I viewed a Daily Mail piece comparing Cody Brown
09:04to a polygamist Hugh Hefner, such as he wanted his wives to appear a certain way in order to reflect
09:10his own value and worth. And what I love about the editing today is that immediately after they attempt
09:16to spin Robin as the poor victim, they cut straight to Janelle and Christine, who completely shred that lie.
09:22Janelle says,
09:23I was surprised when Robin and Cody began using the word soulmate because Robin came from a plural
09:29family. She knows how awful it is to pretend you have a better or different connection than the rest
09:35of the family. And it's true. In a polygamous family, if you begin talking about a soulmate,
09:41it's not going to be well received. And even when Robin and Cody did try so much to keep how special
09:47their relationship was underwrapped. They didn't. Not even close. It's always been clear. You can see
09:53that Janelle is just beyond Cody and Robin's delusional fantasy. She flat out state, Robin grew
09:59up in polygamy. She knows better than to say things like that. And it's true. Robin's biological mother
10:05was a first wife, afterwards becoming a second wife. Robin had her biological father, then her stepfather,
10:11and then eventually her mom became a second wife. She came up in that arrangement. She grew up in that
10:17cult. So she really knows the repercussions of using terms like soulmate. And still she is here,
10:23going back to her old trick of playing dumb, pretending like, oh, I didn't know I wasn't
10:28allowed to say that. Come on, Robin. So you've got Janelle reminding all of us that Robin's playing dumb,
10:35acting like the vulnerable, innocent victim. And then Christine chimes in like, yeah, in polygamy,
10:41you don't use words like soulmate flippantly because it's not going to turn out. You can also
10:46tell that for years, they were taught to cover for other, to lie and attempt to defend Cody and
10:52Robin. Christine even catches herself like saying something like, they tried to hide it and then
10:58immediately correcting herself. Well, they didn't. You can watch her unlearning that old habit, that
11:03reflexive desire to protect them, and then reminding herself, no, I don't need to do that anymore.
11:09Because the thing is, they didn't hide it. It wasn't one thing said. It was right out there for
11:15everybody. The editing this year, guys, it's subtle, but completely genius. You can totally see it.
11:21They start the episode with Christine speaking about how Cody wanted his wives to be perfect.
11:26Then they instantly cut to Cody showing off his family, requiring them to be all perfect and pretty.
11:32Then cut to Cody attempting to present himself as dad of the year. And then Christine is discussing
11:37how Robin always received the best thing, which is again supported visually with scenes of Robin
11:43receiving all the good thing. Then it cuts back to Cody and Robin going on and on about their perfect
11:50little love story. It's all the editing and it's so good. At one point, Cody says this,
11:56I was curious if the divorces diminished me to her. Like, does she want me the same anymore?
12:02When they departed, they took from me. They stole some confidence from me. Now I'm exposed. I'm a
12:07moron. What if she just takes me for everything I possess? This portion of the episode, if you're not
12:13accustomed to polygamy, you may miss the underlying meaning. What Cody's actually saying here is that
12:19his worth to Robin was that he had more than one wife. In polygamous belief, the more wives you have,
12:26the greater your status in the hereafter. You're like a God with your own celestial kingdom. And now
12:31that kingdom is falling apart. But Cody's not laying it out like that. Instead, he's putting it like,
12:37am I still worth something to you? And there's another level to this. Cody essentially admitted,
12:43even if indirectly, that he thinks Robin was after his money. On a podcast in 2023,
12:49he made some comment about how women supposedly look at a good man being married to someone else and
12:55want to marry him so they can get that good man for themselves. In Cody's mind, Robin desired him
13:01because he had other wives, because he had status, because he had wealth. That's how he perceives it.
13:06I gave her this lifestyle. I promised her this status. Now that it's lost, will she even desire me?
13:12And now he's afraid that without the other wives, all she sees in him is a paycheck. It's as if he's
13:18waking up in slow motion to the fact that perhaps he chucked his entire life for somebody who was
13:24stringing him along. But all the while, he's over here still pretending that he and Robin are soul
13:29mates. Robin attempts to spin it, stating that she never viewed Cody as any less valuable following
13:35the split. That what bothered her most was how terribly he was treating her. She reports Cody got
13:41in his head that her problems were due to the fact he no longer had other wives. But Robin insists,
13:46that's not how I feel at all. What I struggled with was how he was behaving. He was abrasive,
13:52and I had to sit there and explain it to him. You were being moody. Again, Cody demonstrates that
13:58he simply cannot accept responsibility for his action rather than owning up. Yeah, I was a jerk
14:04to my wife. He blames his other wives for stealing his confidence and claims that's why Robin may not like
14:10him. Not because he treated her badly, but because he somehow lost his shiny status. It's the same old
14:16Cody. It's always someone else's fault. And gosh, I don't care for Robin either, but I can totally
14:22see Cody being impossible to work with. And let's be real, Robin would most likely be just as draining.
14:28But the drama flying back and forth between these two, who are still attempting to play along like
14:33their soul mate, it's not subtle. The tension is practically sitting right there under the surface.
14:39Then they begin discussing Aurora or Brianna, bringing home a boyfriend, and how they'd need to meet the
14:45family. Cody quips that he's super easy to win over because he's such a friendly, amiable guy. But
14:51Robin, being the stubborn one she is, will be the difficult one. Side eye alert. So let's sum up.
14:57In the same episode where Cody is raving about how much he loves Robin and how he's just a fool for
15:03her, he also refers to her as a gold digger who desired him for his influence and celebrity
15:09controlling and overbearing where her kids' relationships are concerned. Make it make sense.
15:14And then Cody just asserts with a huge grin that Robin is going to challenge any boys their
15:20daughters bring home. Essentially confessing she meddles in her children's relationship with.
15:25Hello? Isn't that precisely what all of Cody's older children have been telling us for years?
15:31Robin meddled in his relationships with them too. He's literally admitting it out of his own mouth.
15:36And let's not forget, her daughters are in their 20s now. They don't even need their mom managing their
15:42dating lives anymore. And really, it's disgusting the way Cody and Robin are exploiting this season,
15:48even in the wake of Garrison's devastating death, to strut around as the perfect, godly family.
15:55They're clearly pushing this narrative that they are the ones who kept God and everyone else lost him.
16:00And that's why the rest of the family fell apart. It's smug. It's self-righteous. And it's disgusting.
16:06Just delusions of grandeur at this point. And speaking of their delusions, the Browns finally
16:12sold Coyote Pass. As per People, Cody, Robin, Mary, and Janelle formally transferred ownership
16:19earlier this April for $1.5 million. As per Coconino County property records, the drama surrounding
16:26the sale continued for years. Although it's still unfolding on television, with the actual paperwork
16:31complete, they initially purchased Coyote Pass in 2018 when they relocated to Arizona. The Grand
16:38Vision? Constructing a sprawling family compound that Cody, his four wives, and their 18 children
16:44would all call home. Well, we all see how that panned out. Rather than constructing houses and
16:50forming some plural utopia, the whole family literally fell apart. Christine left first officially
16:56in November 2021. At one time, she actually held a stake in the land herself. But once she separated
17:02from her husband, she sold it back to Cody in August of 2022. Shortly after that, Mary and Janelle each
17:09announced their own separations within roughly 14 months of Christine's departure. And of course,
17:15Robin is the lone remaining wife of the original polygamist marriage now, if you can even refer to it as
17:21such anymore. While Cody has questioned Cody's motives, however, Janelle has been openly critical
17:27of how little she trusts him, particularly when selling Coyote Pass. Although they all chipped in
17:33financially to settle the land, Janelle indicated that she didn't think Cody would split it equally
17:39when selling it. It was in a December 2024 episode that she stated, we're actually paying off this stupid
17:47property in Flagstaff. But now there's this huge battle over how to split it up. I don't know what
17:53to expect from Cody. He's sort of been an A over the property, so he might be an A over it as we go
17:59along. Who knows? Because of Cody's shady history, including lying and keeping secrets about the property
18:05status, Janelle eventually hired a lawyer. And honestly, good for her. And get this, Cody actually admitted
18:13on camera that he thought about screwing her over with the land division. He said something like,
18:18she doesn't trust me because she would screw me if she could. That's what I believe. And I'll be honest,
18:24I did think about screwing her, but I won't. My wife with a conscience, Robin, won't let me. So
18:30basically, Cody wanted to screw Janelle over, but Robin wouldn't let him. Such a catch, this guy.
18:36On last week's show, April 20th, Janelle explained she couldn't totally get over Cody yet because the
18:42Coyote Pass debacle still lingered over her. It was the final thing holding her back in Flagstaff.
18:48She explained, I am truly just ready to be solved and have this property sold. I don't want to have
18:53to think about Cody anymore. I don't want to have to speak to him, deal with him, nothing, as long as
18:59that property is a source of conflict. I can't really get on with my life. And sincerely, who could
19:04blame her? Cutting Cody loose is the best thing any of them could possibly do.
