00:23So anyhow, they have a resident lexicographer. Her name is Susie Dent.

00:29So, you know, words are exactly what she does for a living.

00:34She has testified to the effectiveness of lalocasia or the use of swearing to alleviate stress and frustration

00:43after discovering that her new book, which is called Word Perfect, was filled with typos.

00:51It's actually a sort of subplot line of Louis Black in Inside Out.

00:56You know, he uses curse words to alleviate anger and he gets all pissed off and he gets the whole new panel at the end

01:01that instructs what the new curse words are going to be.

01:05Dent said that she had just found out the initial printing of Word Perfect,

01:08which is described by its publisher as a brilliant linguistic almanac,

01:12had been completed using an early version of the text.

01:14And apparently she took a look at the opening and it was just, she said,

01:20I opened it up and I saw there was something wrong in the acknowledgements and then I had to close it because I just felt sick.

01:28There are quite a few errors.

01:30I haven't counted them all and I really don't want to.

01:32So apparently they didn't go through the proper steps to get the typos done before they put it out,

01:39which was, they said, was pretty much stupid.

01:41My wife will just labor over things and she's a very good writer.

01:45She's really, you know, can, composes things and does a great job every time.

01:50And I always say to her, you know, I said,

01:52hon, you won't believe the amount of things I get from companies, from PR firms,

01:56promoting their clients or whatever to the show that have, that are just filled with misspellings and grammatical errors.

02:05I misspell stuff in social media posts all the time.

02:11And I've thought I looked it over.

02:14I thought I took a quick glance, but I will blatantly just put,

02:18or a word that is spelled correctly, but just doesn't make any sense being in that particular sentence.

03:54It might even pick out a birthday.
