00:00But right now, on the phone, very special, guys.
00:03These dudes, we've been a fan of for a long time.
00:06They've been friends of the show for a long time.
00:08They put on an amazing show, and they're on a great tour right now,
00:13and I'm glad it's going to be here on Friday.
00:15Cannot wait to see it.
00:16Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Dan and Shay.
00:18Dan and Shay!
00:20Hey, you guys got a party going on there, man.
00:23Always do, yeah.
00:24We're just getting warmed up for Friday, that's all.
00:27Love to see it.
00:27What's the weather looking like this Friday?
00:29Is it going to be hot?
00:30Should we wear shorts on stage?
00:31Heat index of about 110.
00:34Oh, great.
00:35Yeah.
00:35It's probably going to storm in the afternoon, so yeah, it's going to be miserable.
00:41Geez, Lana, really selling our area.
00:44Sounds like Florida weather.
00:45I like it.
00:45Yeah.
00:46Get your workout for us.
00:47Guys, this tour has been super successful,
00:50and I've been love watching things on Instagram of you guys just having these crowds sing back to you.
00:55And your new stuff, too, that's got to be super flattering.
00:59If it's not just the old stuff that they're singing to you,
01:01it's these new songs that you're putting out, you know, like a year ago or less than a year ago,
01:06and they know every word.
01:08It's amazing, man.
01:09You know, you'd think after 10 years that you kind of get used to that feeling of people singing your words,
01:13but there's nothing greater than standing on stage and, you know,
01:16hearing people sing back the words that you wrote at your buddy's house.
01:19You know, especially songs like Bigger Houses that, you know, have a really personal meeting,
01:23and it's something that we're going through right now.
01:25You know, that song is exactly where we're at in our life,
01:27and it's just a crazy moment to be able to sit there and, you know, be able to hear,
01:31you know, 20,000 people singing back to you.
01:33It's just the craziest feeling on earth, so we're very grateful, man.
01:35Can't wait to be in Florida with that beautiful weather and get to look out there and see your beautiful face,
01:41J.R.
01:43Yeah, I don't know the words.
01:44Sorry.
01:45That's good.
01:46Give away.
01:47You have a day, all right?
01:48You can hurry.
01:51No, I'm kidding.
01:52No, man.
01:52I'm always rooting for you guys.
01:53Love watching them sing it back to you, like I said.
01:56And, Shay, before we get, you know, you talk about being where you're at in your life,
02:00congratulations on baby number four coming.
02:03Thank you, man.
02:04I appreciate it.
02:05It's crazy.
02:05Crazy times.
02:06I got a lot of help now.
02:07I'm, like, recruiting Dan.
02:08You know, we got Uncle Dan.
02:09We got the bass player.
02:11We got our guitar player, our drummer, and, you know, we got lots of uncles around on
02:15the road.
02:15The bass player, you want to leave him out.
02:16Yeah, maybe not him.
02:18Yeah, you know, actually, I remember that bass player.
02:20Yeah, you do want to leave him out.
02:22Yeah, definitely.
02:24Sounds like you may have to get a bigger house.
02:27Hey-o!
02:28Oh, wow.
02:30I'm trying to get a smaller house because it's hard to keep up with all of us at this point.
02:34Very nice.
02:35Guys, give me some highlights of this tour.
02:38Obviously, we talked about them singing words back to you, but has there been a show that
02:42has shocked you or a city that has shocked you on this tour?
02:46Oh, man.
02:46They've honestly, I mean, it sounds like a boring answer.
02:48They've all been unbelievable.
02:49We were actually in New York not long ago at a really cool venue called Jones Beach, which,
02:53you know, we've gotten to open there a few times, and that venue's just special, man.
02:57A lot of history there.
02:58There's, you know, water behind the stage.
02:59We were out paddle boarding during the day, so we were a little extra tired on stage that
03:02night.
03:03Got a nice bronze on, though, man.
03:04We're trying to get that base coat for when we come down to Florida.
03:07I feel like we're in for it, man.
03:11Our booking agent, when they put us in Florida and Phoenix and everywhere, you know, in the
03:15hot areas in August, I feel like they, I don't know, they do it on purpose to us, man.
03:20It's crazy.
03:20You know, you guys are out on the road, and we hear this time and time again when an artist
03:23is out on the road.
03:25You know, they have vocal troubles because you're doing so much singing, and you're using your
03:29voice so much.
03:30Is there anything, especially Shay, I mean, do you protect it anyway?
03:33Is there anything, like, a secret that you do to protect your voice night after night
03:37doing all these shows?
03:39You know, I think sleep is probably the biggest thing, which is, for me, out on the road, you
03:43know, I got so many kids at home.
03:45It's like, when I get out on the road, it's the first time I'm sleeping in days.
03:48So this is a vacation for me.
03:50But, no, man, it's, I'm not really drinking on the road at all.
03:53I don't drink really anymore at all.
03:55That definitely helps a ton.
03:57I feel like back in the day, JR, you know, we'd go out there and get after it.
04:00But, uh...
04:01Dude, we'd get after it.
04:03Dan would get after it.
04:04Your wives would get after it.
04:05I mean, it was...
04:06I couldn't keep up.
04:09It's, uh...
04:10It's definitely a lot easier nowadays.
04:12It's really expensive to do anything nowadays.
04:13So, you know, the fact that people are spending money to come see our concert, we don't take
04:17that for granted.
04:18So, you know, we've got to make sure we're going in there and treating this thing, you
04:21know, like, uh, trying to be professionals, even though you guys know better than that,
04:24that we're not really professional.
04:26But, uh, we're definitely going at it, trying to be athletes, this is Dan and I's new, uh,
04:31our new goal.
04:31We're trying to get Tim McGraw ripped, uh, just so we can put on a good show every night.
04:35I love that.
04:36Hey, I got also...
04:37I love that answer, and I got to comment.
04:40You both, you guys look great.
04:41Yeah, I both do.
04:42But also, um, you guys really, really...
04:46This is a serious thing.
04:47You're going to be like, why are you being so serious, JR?
04:48Um, very seriously, you guys represented yourselves so well on The Voice.
04:53You guys really showcased how smart you guys are, how talented you guys are, and what great
05:00coaches you guys are.
05:01I really was impressed.
05:03Dude, thank you so much, man.
05:04That means a lot.
05:05Yeah, it was an amazing opportunity for us to get that call to do The Voice.
05:07It was the first ever, you know, double chair, which is kind of ridiculous to see.
05:11But country music was represented in a big way on that season, man.
05:13Us and Reva.
05:14And, uh, you know, obviously, like, it was a blast being on TV like that.
05:18But there's so many things that, like, the intangible stuff about it is getting the hang
05:21with those new artists, those young artists who, like, you know, maybe from a small town,
05:25never gotten to perform in front of anybody.
05:27And, like, that reminds us, you know, as we've done this for 10 years, you can kind of get,
05:31like, a little bit jaded or, you know, you go through the motions a little bit.
05:34But seeing that reminds you of when we got started and it's just like, man, this is amazing.
05:39We're so grateful for what we get to do.
05:41What a dream come true.
05:42And, man, to be hanging out with Reva, Queen of Country Music, every day, you know,
05:46for months on end is unbelievable, man.
05:48I love it, man.
05:49I'm just excited to hear you guys on stage and to see you guys.
05:53You're always just so amazing, I mean, to watch on stage and listen to.
05:57You walk out of your show going, wow, just wow.
06:01Thank you so much.
06:02We're pumped.
06:03It's a blast every time we're there, man.
06:04Your parents are coming, right, to the show because they live here.
06:07I'm sure.
06:07They probably call the station all the time requesting our music.
06:10I think your mom won tickets last week.
06:13I'm sorry.
06:17No, that's awesome.
06:18All right, well, hey, listen, we'll see you guys Friday.
06:20This has been the most serious interview we've ever had in the entire history of me knowing you guys.
06:25Yeah, it has.
06:26But it's going to be an awesome show.
06:28I can't wait to see you guys.
06:29We appreciate it, man.
06:30I love following you on social media.
06:32You guys, I got to commend you on your social media skills.
06:35You guys would be great.
06:36Oh, thank you.
06:37And, by the way, thank you also for always the singing tips and the encouragement, quote-unquote
06:42encouragement when it comes to me not being able to stay on the beat.
06:45I would have turned my chair every time, every time.
06:49All right, guys.
06:50Be well.
06:51Dan and Shea, everybody.
06:53Thanks, guys.
06:54Love y'all.
06:54All right, love y'all.
06:55See ya.
06:55See ya.
06:56See ya.
