00:53nut i gotta get back early for the patriots game he'll be here six hours before kick

01:50what's that the good news is this was a good day for the patriots this was a bounce back day for the

01:57offense but this overall from start to finish you can look at this day in foxborough and say

02:03hey august 6 2025 today was a good day is what you can say for a lot of reasons one the football was good

02:10the competition was good right the two teams were competing hard with one another and it was very

02:17very organized it was quick we couldn't believe how fast the teams went from their stretch period

02:24into real game-like action scrimmage action right out of the gate it was it was smooth patriots look

02:32good they competed hard they competed well a lot of guys represented themselves well today and they

02:38looked like they belonged on the field with a team that was one of the hottest teams in the nfl last

02:42year and was playing on championship sunday in the nfc title game the patriots competed and looked like

02:49they belonged with that team today and the patriots are dealing with issues of their own not having

02:54their starting corners out there right right no terry mcclorn for them so uh this is the biggest thing

03:00i take away good day this isn't carolina this isn't cleveland that was in here for joints right this is a

03:05team that is a real football team right good quarterback well coached good offensive coordinator

03:10uh can you say maybe they outkick coverage last year a little bit maybe maybe i think i think they

03:16got breaks i think things went their way sure quarterback got hot uh but when you look at them

03:21they don't look like the eagles eagles look like a better team i think dallas when you look at them

03:25even though they don't win they look like a better team um that's not a big team but what i like about

03:31the commanders they got each other's back you know when these skirmishes uh took place out here

03:36same thing with the patriots boom everybody up right away separate so the message was out there

03:41guys you get in a fight you swing you swing you're leaving camp you're getting out of practice uh so

03:46cooler heads prevailed i thought it was a good work day um a lot of people have been worried about

03:51the offense will camel what are you gonna do in a rookie what about morgan moses taking days off

03:56who's playing center i thought the operation offensively was was the best it's been all year

04:02and it goes to show you the slow build that i think mcdaniels has in his plans for drake may

04:09start him slow take the stuff that's there and then you start taking shots i mean there were five or

04:14six back-to-back-to-back-to-back throws and henderson uh dropping one in the end zone uh they're all

04:20touchdowns they were effective high efficiency good in the red zone good with the tight end ran the ball

04:25well ran the ball well will campbell had a good day he was fine looked good he was good yeah yeah i

04:35mean i'm not going to tell you he stood out as having a great day but it was good he protected

04:40the quarterback yep and his blind side well out there so no complaints about the offensive line

04:46today he may have gotten beat on one play by detritch wise but nothing that and that was in a one-on-one

04:52situation and so i i don't know i not much to nitpick at out there today so that's what you're

04:58going to hear too he got beat by uh detritch wise and a lot of people here have respect uh for

05:04detritch wise and i don't know why you don't 35 and five-eighths arms 11 inch hands big guy he was

05:10here forever got a nice deal to go to washington um team captain for how many years here so that's a

05:17good player that's a good nfl player that went up against will campbell he's gonna lose a one-on-one

05:23here or there i think will campbell won the day against yeah right i'll take it i think the whole

05:27offensive line i said that during the show look at the pocket look at the pocket dobbs had and how

05:32about dobbs ever since we got on his ass over a week ago he's looked pretty damn good maybe they

05:37don't have a backup quarterback situation they probably don't they probably don't maybe they

05:40don't have a bad problem we're stupid yeah yeah it's gonna be tough still i mean i try to watch

05:45groupings as much as i can i have no clue who's gonna be in a huddle friday night but uh you know

05:50we got production meetings tomorrow and stuff so we'll have a better grip on that but it's just

05:54it's gonna be a bleep show these preseason games this friday at one o'clock next saturday it's gonna

06:02be your last chance to see anybody in the place before week one uh against vegas because you're not

06:08playing anybody at third preseason game against the giants so you you got about a week and a half to work

06:14here to get ready for week one then you hide it close doors put your game plan in for for vegas

06:18how about the camping kayshawn booty seven i i think he's one of your best receivers i think

06:24if i if i if i had to pick him in pecking order i would go digs pop douglas kayshawn booty

06:31one two three and then matt collins yeah i would give you i would agree with everything you just said

06:37i'm just basing off what i saw here with hollins and i don't see anything but size wise like they

06:40that's a pretty good group booty is growing and progressing balls and developing like a player

06:46drafted where he was drafted should right he's always getting better his game has improved he's

06:53come a long way had a great off season it's paid off in this camp so i i'm just getting to a point

06:59now after having watched a couple of weeks of this of thinking hey maybe we should readjust what we

07:04think kayshawn booty is capable of for this team he's always been kind of like oh well that nice piece

07:10solid little player you know he gave him a little something i don't know man maybe he's developed

07:14into something better than that maybe he's developing into a real player and he's going

07:18to be helped along with josh mcdaniels here i i compare it i'm not making the comparison as a

07:23player or a patriot hall of famer i played with troy brown he was continually getting cut getting sent

07:28down didn't have the respect always had the high price guys first round picks in and all troy did

07:33will show up every day bust his ass make plays make plays in practice make plays in preseason games

07:39to the point where pete carroll talked to me and him and said stop throwing to our first round pick

07:43chris canty he reminds me of like the path troy troy took keep fighting nobody gives him a chance

07:50you know the national guys they're not going to look at it and say oh this guy's a keeper

07:53because you're not here and you're not watching him he's here absolutely deserves it he's here and

07:59he's a big part of their plans based on his reps good crowd today though great crowd great crowd

08:04again the buzz i think another thing to take from here today the buzz it's it's almost like let's

08:11say you turn the page post brady post belichick but there were some dull days here man there were

08:16some dull days and uh i got caught in traffic coming in crazy never so did i we both did i called you

08:22that's good hey got a problem here yeah traffic getting into the parking lots is

08:27mouth was all backed up outside of 495 it was backed up getting in here that's good news

08:31so the buzz was back the fans were back felt like there's something to be excited about and the

08:38patriots delivered gave them a great day of football out there so it's our last day from here right yeah

08:43this is it man so so overall what do you think we got out of this camp what did we really learn about

08:47this team what can we take away i mean i know we have preseason games remaining but as far as watching

08:51them on a day-to-day basis it's over other than we'll get updates from next week when they go out

08:57to minnesota for joints i think what you take away is what what's been transparent all off season

09:01it's it's the slow build of having an organized team a real leader in a room they're they're going

09:08to be more buttoned up and uh they move and they practice and i think you could you could call camp

09:13cushy and i asked mike that too during the first election i remember we had two days he kind of

09:18rolled his eyes he's like yeah i can't do that anymore and that's why i say blame the league but hey

09:22everybody has to prepare like this and it's sort of a give and take and i think he has to create

09:28that balance where if you got to give him a day and in shorts and backward hats and you know sneakers

09:33so be it so but i think the team is off to a good start i'm excited from what i saw today that gets

09:40me excited for friday night i have no clue how long they're going to play i'm a better handle on that

09:44tomorrow well we're looking forward to it and of course that game on friday night can be heard
