00:00a lot of people we've had on this week since camp opened to say like nine wins nine wins nine wins
00:05is what we're thinking and so conceivably to have nine wins home opener against the raiders that's
00:12a game you should win the raiders you know we're not a very good team last year uh they're uh you
00:19know they're the patriots as it stands now are uh you know favorites in that game um but the raiders
00:27have pete carroll as a coach an established coach now they have geno smith who's an established
00:33quarterback they have some pieces i'm not positive they're any worse than you are um what is the talent
00:40disparity between a team like the raiders and the patriots um i think it's relatively even um you
00:48know i'd say the patriots probably have the patriots probably have a little more balance um where the
00:57raiders have a little more star power like if you look at the raiders with you know ashton jenty
01:03is the sixth overall pick brock bowers max crosby how many players do the patriots if you take the
01:10quarterback out of it how many players the patriots have at that level one probably one right christian
01:15gonzalez right you know like and those those three guys i mean i and we'll see what jenty but i i'm
01:21pretty confident he's going to be a really really high-end running back like a top five ish running
01:28back right out of the box so and bowers i think you can make the argument going into year two bowers
01:34has a chance to be the best tight end in football and max crosby is what he has been the last few
01:39years one of the best pass rushers so um that said maybe the raiders have a few more holes um
01:46you know like questions like what are they going to do at corner um the receiver situation you know
01:52is sort of up in the air so the patriots probably have a little bit better balance across the roster
01:57and then you know obviously quarterback i think uh based on performance geno's a better quarterback
02:03than drake may but the ceiling is way higher with drake you know so um you know drake drake still
02:09hasn't played at the level that geno's been at and was at over his time in seattle um but drake was
02:15only a rookie you know so we'll see where drake takes it yeah drake should end up being way better
02:20than geno right of course but i'm saying like right now right but no but right now that's the thing is
02:25that there's a tremendous amount of pressure on drake may if nine wins is the expectation because
02:30now you're asking him to take a monumental leap well and we've all made we've all made the comparison to
02:36washington right like i think it was probably the first one to make it all the way back in march and i
02:40and i think there's a fair comparison based on like the way they built the team
02:43there are two factors that i think like that are differences right first of all washington plays
02:50in the nfc and that's a there's a big difference there and making the playoffs in the afc versus
02:55making the playoffs in the nfc and the division that the the um that washington is in you know
03:02dallas took a downturn had all the injuries last year really it was the eagles and that was it in that
03:07division last year so um you know washington had that washington had that going for them
03:12the other thing is in in going and doing last year what they did what the patriots did this year which
03:19is bringing a bunch of guys you have background with the guys in the coaching staff know that are
03:23going to get you up to a competent level at a lot of different positions you've made yourself
03:28competitive what took washington over the top last year was having a rookie quarterback that played
03:32in an absolutely historic level right so that's part of the equation too is how big a leap this
03:39drake may take in year two is he taking a jump to okay now he's a pretty good quarterback you know
03:46now he's the 13th best quarterback in the league the 14th best quarterback in the league does that get
03:52you to 10 11 wins in the afc probably not if he's in the top 10 you know then maybe we're talking
04:00about them getting there so i think this is a middle of the patriots have leveled up to the
04:06point where maybe they're a middle of the pack team the thing that could turn them into a playoff
04:11team is if drake takes a a bigger leap than a lot of people are expecting yeah i mean i i would like
04:17to think so but they're still going to be you know limited in terms of of of weapons and stuff so he
04:22can you know he can progress and he can he can washington outside terry mclaurin was too what about
04:29their offensive line uh the patriots offensive line compared to washington's offensive line yeah
04:36washington's offensive line was just okay last year okay which is why they went and got laramie
04:41tunsel um and why they drafted josh connerly the first round the guy they had playing left tackle for
04:47part of the year brandon coleman was a rookie who's now moved inside and playing to guard uh playing
04:52guard like that that was one of the positions um fred that they were really deficient at on at the
05:00end under on rivera that they sort of i think got up to middle to to to level ground last year like
05:07they became confident at that in that area but they weren't great do you think the patriots are
05:12competent on the offensive line i think they can yeah i think they're competent the i i think if you
05:17if you look at the totality of it now morgan moses is older you know you talked about age with aaron
05:22rogers morgan moses you know we'll see what that looks like at his age he is older um like a horrible
05:29center mike and when has been up and down right yeah what does garrett bradbury look like you know
05:35part of it for the vikings i mean look like you know i was just with the vikings and one of the things
05:41that they were really looking to do was get stronger at the center position to help jj mccarthy
05:45and they feel like they got bigger stronger and smarter with ryan kelly at center than where they
05:52were with garrett bradbury weak and small doesn't mean garrett bradbury isn't like a decent player he
05:58was okay uh but they really felt like the need to to go and upgrade at that position so um i i think
06:06ideally at center jared wilson beats him out okay um i think that's the ideal i think if if jared
06:13wilson is what a lot of people thought he was before the draft then he should be pushing for
06:18that job and we'll see how that plays out during camp if you like that clip and how could you not
