00:00remember that video last week of a red truck that got tossed around by a tornado in texas

00:10yeah a 16 year old kid was driving riley leon and luckily he's okay fox 7 in austin

00:18actually caught up with that this kid to talk about what he went through and as soon as i find

00:26it here i'm gonna let you hear it yes so uh here's his story about what went down take a listen in

00:33seeing the videos i'm like that could have that that would that's me and then i could have probably

00:39not been here but thank god i am riley leon still can't believe that's him in the video that's me

00:45inside of the truck spinning around and that i that i survived that this video of riley has

00:52gained the attention of people from across the country watching him being tossed around by

00:57strong tornado winds before the truck miraculously whips back on its wheels and he drives off a scary

01:03experience especially for a 16 year old boy everybody thinks i'm an adult but in reality i'm

01:10a minor 16 year old that still goes to school he says that day he was on his way back from a job

01:16interview at a water burger in elgin only 10 minutes away from his home when he encountered the

01:21dangerous weather right when i was going to take the u-turn that's when the tornado got me and it

01:26lifted up my truck lifted up and tossed around on its side my truck is gone thrown like a paper around

01:34he made it out with only a few scratches on his arm the experience scared him so bad he didn't tell any of

01:40his family exactly what happened to avoid worrying them riley admits he learned a lot from this

01:45experience if there's going to be a bad weather and stay home no matter no matter what how important

01:51the thing is to you stay home your life your life matters more and although he's still shaken up from

01:57it he plans to move past it grateful i'm here and grateful god gave me another chance because better

02:03things are going to come in the future and never never let small things bring you down

02:09so it makes sense now right does this all make sense he's like the calmest person yeah i think he

02:15was in the truck being like sometimes a truck i spins he looked like he was inside of a break

02:22dancing transformer yeah that's what it looked like his car was doing spins like it put cardboard down

02:28and was yeah and was doing a spin and he's like sometimes you just think get into a tornado what's

02:35it like out there he's a be windy i did what was not i did a u-turn right into a tornado i actually

02:44could have kept going and missed it i turned around and went into it we thought it was some wicked

02:49badass cowboy yeah texas cowboy anytime it's this 16 year old calm latin kid yeah it was just coming

02:56back from an interview a whataburger i always say just to try and get a job but i tell you if it's a

03:04windy outside just to stay inside that was his message that was his message if it's a bad weather

03:14just to stay in it doesn't matter how your fellow motorists it doesn't matter how important it is

03:20even if you need a job no job is important enough were you terrified though in the moment

03:28i am still terrified if you cannot tell i can't you seem i am absolutely in terror oh right fairly

03:37very calm and together as you're talking about that moment just because the baby jesus he saved me

03:43that day nice were you screaming well how were you reacting in the truck not a screaming no no it was

03:51quiet had a couple scrapes and you just continued on your route did you think to stop maybe and check

04:00the truck to see if everything was okay places to go oh i see and i get home i didn't even tell anybody

04:07but i hate him because it's not that's what it said that he didn't even tell his family he was just

04:16like no big deal i don't know i guess i'll hear from a whataburger later maybe wait no one noticed the

04:24damage no no they did they went outside and they were like it looks like your truck was break dancing and

04:29he's like oh well at a one point i took a u-turn into a tornado

04:39i forgot to wait into it right into it yeah and he picked me up no and it flipped me flipped me

04:45and then i put it on the side and then it spin me like a break dance and then it put me back on the

04:51wheels and i just came home nothing crazy nothing crazy someone in texas calling him latin matthew

04:58mcconaughey yeah well i tell you it's not not a big deal the ween the mess of my hair well

05:07hopefully whataburger hired that kid because there's the calm person you can handle all of

05:13your fast food problems drama comes up i'll be honest so he's gonna make i i know this is bad

05:19but he's gonna make me think they're going slow in there yeah he is because i'm gonna be like hey

05:25can i get a double cheeseburger with a large fry blah blah all that he's gonna want a double

05:31cheeseburger a large fry what would you like to drink with the day a chocolate shake one a chocolate

05:41shake so we got lickety split if you could we got a double cheeseburger yeah we covered that i want a

05:48fry yes that's right and i want a chocolate shake yes got it done i want a cheeseburger oh my god you

05:54can't you just they can get it right out of the computer you don't need to tell them they just see

05:59it on their screen and i want a chocolate riley they just see it right on their screen you don't

06:05why does this new guy keep repeating all the orders excuse me yes the shake machine is down

06:10no shakes fine i'll just take a water i'll just take away i'm gonna start to try to fix it no no no

06:18it'll be just a few moments so yeah no word on the job uh but a dealership in fort worth is helping

06:24him out they're giving him a brand new truck to replace the one that's nice oh that's nice yeah i

06:29mean that you need it we said it could be a chevy commercial right like yes it shows how tough that

06:34truck listen the thing flipped it was break dancing went back on its wheels and it still

06:39drove home like it drove home and he didn't even he it was it was in such good shape he didn't even

06:44think to tell anybody like mom dad i hate to tell you but i was in a tornado with your car it's not

06:51mine it's not his car there's no way it's it's not his car oh no yeah i hope but they don't notice

06:56that's what he was hoping yeah they didn't notice it was in a tornado until it went viral

07:00yeah geez they're on the news no not viral i have to come clean what a hyping it wasn't me in

07:08the tornado that wasn't you it wasn't me that's crazy by the way he did get the job at whataburger

07:15good it all worked out for him he got the job he got a new truck and luckily he's alive and still

07:20pretty calm yeah about the whole situation yeah very very he does not react to difficult situations

07:26the way i do i just feel like he's it was in the car it was spinning around and he was still like

07:32doing stuff on his phone or something right it's probably like actually the check of instagram
