On today's Peep Show Dave & Chuck talk about breakdancing becoming a new Olympic sport and it reminds them of the time they were inspired to be on a local Soul Train type of dance show until they realized Dave's dance moves were not going to cut it.

00:25i've been sitting in this room with you guys for like five seven years maybe and uh yeah i don't

00:32recall anything about you guys really fighting to be on a dance show trying to get on a dance show

00:38the three of us we were going to work on a routine i don't remember the name of it right now but

00:43there's a dance party yeah dance party yeah that's right we're trying to get on you should you should

00:49pull up some clips of the detroit dance party so we can show you about what we wanted to get on i just

00:54had that flashback i'm like i think we did that we were obsessed we were totally obsessed and we talked

00:58about it all the time i was obsessed this is what we wanted to be on yeah the new dance show was what

01:06it was called back in the day i loved it it came on late night we so wanted to be and we're matching

01:22would watch this and die laughing this was just some local show this guy was incredible

01:28that was fun and there was a guy dressed as count dracula every time he was like a little latino man i believe

01:37dressed as count dracula yeah and it was like right in the time it was like man hot chicks shaking their butts

01:50this this chick what's crazy is i remember a lot of the dance look at the guy in the background

01:58we would have looked so stupid oh my god are you kidding me it's incredible they would have laughed

02:04us off to do a dance party no way yeah i would have brought the heat i would have brought the heat

02:10look at these guys that would be me and chuck we talked about it all the time we bothered them

02:16oh my god we bothered them so much they finally were like come on the damn show

02:22they were like come on just fine come on and then we got really scared we're like oh wait well they

02:42imagine we would have had to be in this line oh my god this dance line it's like a catwalk that's what we

02:50wanted to do i thought this was i thought this was the nail in the coffin to make everybody want

02:54to stop because if we went on there and did it we did it so badly they thought we were gonna make

02:58we were making fun of them yeah we were definitely worried that was was conveyed to me because that

03:05was supposed to be a part of it too and i'm like i can't dance i'm scared as hell what am i gonna do

03:08out there yeah we were all very afraid so you guys actually got the offer to go yeah this version of

03:14the show went away and they brought it back they brought it back yeah the new dance detroit dance

03:20party yeah and we were very excited about it and i really wanted to dress like the count

03:29chuck would have been the new count the new count

03:35on the new dance party this guy i just love that it's like it's like yes we should do this yes and

03:41then it's like they want us to do it it's like whoa i don't think we should do it you don't think

03:47about everything it's good we didn't do it because then it would be footage of us we would go viral

03:54so dumb it would be so bad oh my god killed it i was ready it would have been bad it would

04:01live forever too oh yeah yeah so the original dave and chuck the freak listeners that has been with

04:06us for years will remember probably our obsession yeah yeah no one no one else would know we kept

04:11that pretty quiet until just now yeah we kept it pretty quiet i uh i find it incredible

04:16we did like a pistons opening day and then we had two people right like come from that

04:23one of the one of the people that worked like at the radio station at the time also worked at

04:29the people the channel that was putting on the detroit dance show yes she came out and i think

04:34they brought a dancer and i think they brought some pistons dancers yep and then there's like a big

04:37dance thing because i think i remember chuck called dave honky kong

04:41and then after that i think it's when you guys are like we can't go on the show because we're gonna

04:45look we're gonna look ridiculous that's what made us realize i'm like i can't be honky kong

04:50on w-a-d-l yeah you can't be honky kong

04:55oh man jesus but i still remember

05:23saying dave looked like honky kong

05:25so dave ruined it for us

05:28well i think i wouldn't have been able to hang

05:30because i think like lisa saw like it's like

05:33it's because lisa was so behind like this is what lisa wanted to do she was like you guys are

05:38gonna be in adidas outfits it's gonna be amazing yeah you're like this is gonna be awesome and then

05:43i think when dave did the honky the honky kong lisa like saw the future like it hit her she was

05:51like no it's like no we can never do this no because i swear right after that that's what made

05:58us realize it all change it all change she's like guys promise me one thing we are never gonna do

06:04this i thought it could ruin our show or something i don't know the image she had in her mind of us

06:09with matching tracksuit just killing it uh-huh then became reality the other way and she's like

06:15we can never do this yeah don't ever agree to this this would never happen
