00:00Alinsunod sa layunin ni Pangulong Fortinence R. Marcos Jr. na mapalago ang local production para sa food security,

00:07mas pinalalakas pa ang produksyon ng hybrid rice seed.

00:11May balitang pambansa si Val Custodio ng PTV.

00:17Idinaos ang kauna-una ang Harvest Festival para sa hybrid rice seed production sa Davao Oriental noong nakaraang linggo.

00:24Mandato ito ng Administrative Order No. 9 ng Department of Agriculture

00:28sa pagsusulong at pagpapaunlad ng production ng hybrid na palay.

00:33Kinikilala nito ang kahalagahan na pagsuporta sa lokal na produksyon ng binhi,

00:37isang hakbang para palakasin ang industriya ng agrikultura.

00:40Based po doon sa aming policy, dapat po 60% ang ating imported seeds, 40% po yung local.

00:47But this year, we aim to reverse that na maging 60% po ang ating locally produced seeds and 40% po yung ating imported.

00:55Ang paggamit ng hybrid rice seeds ay nagdudulot ng mas mataas na ani.

01:00Dahil ito ay disease resistance, mas matatag ang uri ng binhi na akmasa klima ng bansa.

01:05Mapapataas ito ang rice production, kaya bababa ang pagdedepende sa imported na binhi.

01:10We are using locally produced seeds.

01:14Yung productivity ng ating mga farmers ay na i-increase po sila.

01:19At alam naman po natin, hybrid is mataas din po ang yield nito.

01:24At the same time, kung locally produced po, is mas mababa po ang production cost noon.

01:29So definitely, increased income din po sa ating mga producers.

01:33Matatandaang itinaas pa ang pondo para sa Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund o RCEF.

01:38Ito ay para sa mekanization, seed development, propagation and promotion,

01:43expanded rice credit assistance at rice extension services.

01:47Yung RCEF ay naging 30 billion na po yung ating annual budget for that.

01:52So talagang we are working towards achieving po yung goal na production namin this year

01:58na mapataas po talaga yung aming rice production.
