00:14Every year, the Dinagyang Festival is held in the city of Iloilo.

00:19It is one of the most anticipated festivals of our fellow citizens of Iloilo.

00:25The Dinagyang Festival is usually held every four weeks of January

00:30as a celebration and a tribute to Santo Nino.

00:36The word Dinagyang is derived from the Ilonggo word Dagyang

00:40which means giving joy or happiness.

00:45The local people make different preparations

00:48to show their history and culture.

00:52This is where the religious routine is held

00:54such as the fluvial procession

00:56where they hold the Santo Nino and ride the boats.

01:01This is followed by the Ati or Ati-Ati Tribe Competition

01:06and the Grand Parade

01:07where each tribe presents colorful costumes
