00:13watching a Houston team trail by six with just about 35 seconds left in regulation,

00:19but they keep finding their way back in closer and sticking around.

00:24What were some of the initial thoughts in your mind?

00:27Honestly, Ben, the first thought in my mind happened in the first half when Houston was

00:33three of 15, three of 16 for the floor and couldn't buy a bucket. And I said to Kevin,

00:38they need to get this lead to six by halftime. And if you remember, they went three, three,

00:44three. I think it was Cryer, Cryer, Usain, back to back to back. They got the lead to six.

00:49And I said, okay, if you're Calvin Sampson, you're walking into the room and saying,

00:53we were God awful. And we're down six, stay the course, stay the course, something will break.

01:00But that would Cooper flag hit that wing three to make a 64 55. We all thought it was game over,

01:05but something interesting happened with Duke. Duke got more worried about bleeding clock

01:12than running offense. And it allowed Houston to get back into it. You also saw Cooper flag

01:19look completely cooked. I mean, this guy was walking up that up the floor sometimes

01:25on offense and that five minutes and 19 seconds of average mile that the Houston Cougars run.

01:32You saw it. There were so many pivotal plays, but the main thing I took out of it, Ben, is

01:39that game by Houston was not one on Saturday night. It was one in September in the preseason

01:47with the practices, with the constant chaos that Calvin Sampson does. It was one and playing close

01:54games after close games, losing three games in overtime. Duke, when the moment got big, Ben,

02:00they didn't know what to do on either side of the ball. And it's almost like as the game got closer,

02:06you saw Houston almost pick themselves up knowing that they had a chance to steal the game.
