Hello, good morning. Welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office. High pressure
00:05
continues to dominate the weather at the moment. We can see that on the pressure pattern. This
00:11
area of high pressure isn't going anywhere fast. It remains across the U.K. through the
00:16
rest of the weekend into next week as well, keeping all Atlantic weather systems at bay,
00:21
plenty of dry weather to come as well. It is a chilly start this morning, some mist
00:26
and fog patches, some low cloud across the higher ground as well. But this should lift
00:30
and break quite quickly and then for much of the U.K. a sunny day to come. Blue skies
00:36
for many of us, though the sunshine turning hazy at times across parts of England up into
00:40
Scotland as some high cloud passes on by. But otherwise, it's a dry story, just a veil
00:45
of cloud for Orkney and Shetland, but hopefully some brighter breaks at times too here. The
00:51
wind's a little lighter compared to Saturday, but still coming in from an easterly direction.
00:55
So North Sea coast here still on the chilly side, 10, 11, 12 Celsius. But as soon as you
01:00
move inland, temperatures reaching the mid-teens, 16 to 18 Celsius possible. So still above
01:06
average for the time of year. Pollen counts are rising as well. Tree pollen at the moment
01:12
so high to very high across parts of England and Wales, moderate generally across the rest
01:18
of the U.K. Plenty of sunshine to end Sunday ahead of dusk. And then as we head overnight,
01:24
we'll see temperatures falling away under those clear skies. We could see a touch of
01:28
frost, particularly across parts of northern England into the Midlands and Wales. In the
01:33
countryside elsewhere, generally temperatures holding up in towns and cities a little higher,
01:39
but falling low to around one or two Celsius for many of us. Just a little less chilly
01:44
across some southern counties of England and Wales where there's still a little bit of
01:48
a breeze here. But it does mean with those clear skies overnight, it means a sunny start
01:54
to Monday morning. Any frost quickly lifting and any fog patches clearing and then another
02:00
sunny day to come with that high pressure in charge. Just always some low clouds still
02:04
across Orkney and Shetland, perhaps lapping onshore at times across Cape Ness and Sutherland
02:09
there. Otherwise, another dry day to come and feeling warm in that sunshine once more,
02:14
15 to 17 Celsius in the west, around 13 degrees in the east there along the coastal stretches
02:21
in particular. And UV levels again will reach moderate for many of us, three to five across
02:28
the board, just a little lower for Shetland under the cloud here. High pressure continues
02:34
to then dominate through the week ahead. Tuesday to Thursday looking dry, plenty of sunshine
02:39
for all of us and temperatures remaining above average as well, 16 to 18 Celsius throughout.
02:47
On the warm side, it does eventually look like it might start to turn more unsettled
02:51
towards next weekend. If you'd like more information on the weather where you are, follow us on
02:56
