Hello, there. Welcome to your evening broadcast from the Met Office. We'll see heavy rain
00:05
across Scotland over the next 24 hours, some local disruption possible. An area of low
00:10
pressure sits to the northwest, driving in weather systems from the Atlantic, some warm
00:14
and humid air associated with this as well, eventually turning more showery and fresher
00:19
as we move through Tuesday. So, the details for Sunday evening. Outbreaks of heavy rain
00:25
across Northern Ireland stretching into Scotland as we head into the early hours. The Met Office
00:29
warning in force right through until the end of Monday. Some localised disruption
00:34
possible, 50 to 75 millimetres over the higher ground by the end of the day. Overnight across
00:40
England and Wales, generally dry. There will be some rain across western areas. The clearest
00:45
skies further south and east. But a muggy night for all. Winds coming in from the south,
00:50
15, 16 Celsius as a minimum for many of us. And so, that means a muggy, damp start to
00:56
the day, particularly across the north. Outbreaks of heavy rain pushing across Scotland. Some
01:00
localised flooding possible, particularly in the west. Northern Ireland also seeing
01:05
rain which transfers into northern England and later northern parts of Wales as well.
01:10
To the southeast of this weather front, it generally stays dry and bright for much of
01:15
England and Wales. And some sunny spells. And in the best of these, quite a warm, humid
01:20
day, 26, 27 Celsius possible. In the best of the sunshine, a little fresher. Behind
01:25
the weather system, northern Ireland up into northwest Scotland, generally 17 to 22 Celsius
01:31
here. Still breezy around the coasts. Through the evening time, still some heavy pulses
01:36
of rain working across southern and eastern parts of Scotland, transferring into northern
01:40
England, Wales, the west country as we head into the early hours, eventually making its
01:45
way into parts of the Midlands and central southern England. With southeast England generally
01:50
staying dry, clearer spells following behind as well. Under the clear spells, across the
01:55
northwest, temperatures a little fresher, 12 or 13 Celsius. Still muggy across many
02:01
southern and eastern areas, 16 or 17 Celsius to take us in to Tuesday morning. This weather
02:07
front giving outbreaks of rain first thing across central parts of England, pushing its
02:11
way slowly south and eastward, still affecting perhaps parts of Shetland for a time too before
02:17
moving away here. The weather front does linger though across parts of east Anglia
02:20
down into Kent, some heavier bursts possible into the afternoon, but for many brightening
02:25
up, plenty of sunny spells, but showers across northern Ireland, western Scotland could be
02:30
heavy at times. Fresher air moving in, so temperatures 18 to 22 Celsius for many, 23
02:36
to 25 across the far east and south east where that muggy air continues to hold on a little
02:41
longer. Through the rest of the week, it generally stays quite mixed, low pressure to the northwest
02:47
of the UK, so we're likely to see further rain at times across the north and the west.
02:51
Further south and east, generally drier and brighter and temperatures nearer to average
02:55
for the time of year. If you'd like more information on this, you can find this on our social media
03:01
channels and our YouTube as well. See you again soon.
