00:00The Department of Health received a medical service from the residents of a remote area in Ilocos Norte.

00:06Aside from healthcare workers, there are also free medicines.

00:13Free medicines, vitamins, and consultations.

00:18This is what the Department of Health brought to Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Batac City

00:23for the residents of Barangay Isik-Isik, Vintar, Ilocos Norte.

00:27This barangay is far from the city, almost two and a half hours' drive from the center of Lawag City.

00:33That's why Anastasia immediately went to the doctors because of her severe wound.

00:40She is very thankful to the DOH because Anastasia found out that her blood sugar is high.

00:47Aside from medicines, she is also free to go to the health center.

00:51Thank you, sir, to the Department of Health and to me and to all the patients, sir.

01:02I was checked and given a service, sir.

01:09And to make it easier for the patients to receive their medicines,

01:12the officials of the barangay asked the LGO and DOH to have a patient transport vehicle

01:19because their location is far from the medical center.

01:21We hope that we will be able to provide a transportation vehicle for the patients to the city, sir.

01:26Also, the government and especially the MMHC and DOH appreciated our good service.

01:42These initiatives are just part of the government's effort to provide medical services to Filipinos,

01:49especially in remote areas.
