00:18Nagsama-sama ang mga miyembro ng Saud Caledman Farmers Association,

00:23mga kinatawan ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 7,

00:27RAFI, Therma Visayas Inc. at maging ang LGU ng Toledo City.

00:32Iisa ang layunin, ang sabay-sabay na makapagtanim ng kakao seedlings sa Barangay Bato.

00:38Maingat na ipinunla ang bitbit na seedlings

00:41na bahagi ng Carbon Sink Management Program.

00:44Ang mga magsasaka mismo ang pumili ng kakao para itanim

00:49dahil makatutulong ito sa kanilang hanap buhay.

00:52We're actually commemorating a milestone ng Carbon Sink

00:56management program namin.

00:59So, that goal is to plant 1 million trees.

01:03But also, in the next phase, make sure that all these trees thrive.

01:09This is a milestone that we're celebrating

01:11because we've actually met the 1 million milestone already.

01:15It was supposed to be 10 years, but we've met it in 3.

01:18Yung community involvement is very important for us

01:20because, of course, this is our home in Toledo, right?

01:25This is where we operate.

01:26And we want to take care of people

01:28while at the same time achieving our objectives on sustainability as well.

01:32At para matiyak,

01:33natuloy-tuloy na mapapangalagaan

01:35ang mga itinanim na kakao seedlings

01:37at maging panghanap buhay sa tulong ng agroforestry.

01:41Lumagda sa Memorandum of Agreement

01:43ang mga magsasaka kasama ang TVI at ang LGU ng Toledo City.

01:48Rafi's role in that partnership is really first

01:51is to do the social preparations of the community

01:54because it is the belief of Rafi

01:57that before we do any intervention,

02:00there has to be proper advocacy,

02:02proper enabling of the community.

02:04So, Rafi works with the community, prepare them,

02:07but most importantly, we provide technical training to the farmers

02:12such as plantation maintenance

02:14to ensure that when the planting, tree planting happens,

02:19there is really sustainability.

02:21I'd like to thank another program for the people of Toledo

02:25from TVI Abuites.

02:27And with this, I'm so grateful that this company

02:31has been helping us here in Toledo.

02:33So, I think three months ago,

02:35they also gave a program for project for our fisher folks

02:41and now here in Barangay Bato.
