00:00An AirAsia flight bound for Shenzhen, China, was forced to make an emergency landing at

00:06KLA-2 just after midnight due to a fire which ignited in its right engine mid-flight.

00:13Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Ahmad Mughlis Mokhtar said they received

00:18a distressed call at 10.37pm and immediately deployed nine personnel and a fire engine

00:24to Runway 3.

00:26He said AirAsia flight AK128 and Airbus A320-216 that took off at 9.59pm successfully landed

00:36at 12.08am.

00:38He said all 171 passengers and crew safely disembarked and no injuries were reported.

00:45He said the aircraft's Halon suppression system completely extinguished the fire before landing

00:50and the cause of the fire was identified as a pneumatic ducting burst.

00:55Pneumatic ducting is a component in the aircraft's air system that transports high-pressure air

01:00for engine functions, cabin pressurization and anti-icing.
