00:05as I caught up with owner-breeder John Sondraker after the Chosen Ron's emphatic win in the

00:11San Carlos.

00:12Here with one of my favorite guys, John Sondraker, a big fan of the TDN, the San Carlos winner,

00:25the Chosen Ron.

00:26How are you feeling right now, John?

00:27I'm feeling great.

00:28When you win, you feel great.

00:30He's a homebred for you guys.

00:32Homebred, little skinny thing.

00:35I thought he wouldn't even run until he was late freeze, you know.

00:38He's just got so much heart.

00:40He just does it.

00:41He's now won 16 races.

00:42Have you ever had a horse that's won 16 races?

00:47Not even close.

00:49Maybe half that.

00:50Maybe half.

00:51Cowbred Horse of the Year twice.

00:54Cowbred Sprinter of the Year.

00:57He's going to be the best horse you've ever had.

00:59Oh, no question.

01:00It's a dream come true.

01:01I mean, everybody would want to win the Derby or something like that, but I never had those

01:06kind of expectations, and I never had these kind of expectations.

01:09They exceed your expectations.

01:12Somebody told me I would have a horse 20 years ago that won 16 out of 20.

01:17I would have bet him a million dollars or more if I had it.

01:22That just doesn't sound right, does it?

01:26Your trainer describes him as a cool dude.

01:29Hey, he walks around.

01:31I've walked him around the backside there, and nothing bothers him.

01:36Tractor goes by, you know, or fillies go by.

01:42Nothing bothers that gelding.

01:45He's just like, man, everything's cool here.

01:48Congratulations.

01:51I do want to remind you that Santa Anita will continue racing.

01:58Now, we canceled last weekend.

02:00We will have a four-day racing week this week, starting on Thursday with a nine-race card,

02:05one o'clock post, and a couple of graded stakes on the card.

02:09The grade three Wilshire and the grade three American will have racing throughout the weekend,

02:14including a super Saturday as the first racing tour continues with the Santa Anita Derby

02:21and the Santa Anita Oaks that we'll talk about in just a moment.

02:24It's going to be a fantastic weekend of racing.

02:27And on Sunday, because we postponed from last week, I'm going to go and find some Easter eggs, guys.
