Hello, and welcome to your latest weather forecast from the Met Office. And for many
00:04
of us over the next few days, the temperatures are on the rise. Now, the reason for that
00:08
is we've got low pressure out towards Iberia, higher pressure over the continent, and that's
00:12
drawing in this warm southerly feed of air across all of the UK. So our temperatures
00:17
are on the rise, particularly by day, still some chilly nights to come. And you certainly
00:21
notice that out there first thing on Wednesday morning. But for the rest of Wednesday, a
00:25
fine and sunny afternoon right the way across the board. Plenty of long spells of sunshine
00:30
out there for many of us. The main exception, though, being across parts of the southwest,
00:33
particularly South Wales and parts of southwest England. Here at times, the cloud will be
00:37
that bit thicker through the course of the day today. And what that could mean as well
00:41
is we just see one or two very isolated light spots of rain. But shouldn't spoil things
00:45
too much. Temperatures still going to be feeling a little bit warmer than yesterday. And that's
00:49
because we've lost that nagging easterly breeze that we've had for several days. So as part
00:54
from the very far southwest where we continue to see a bit of a breeze, many of us will
00:58
have much lighter winds today and our temperatures getting widely into the mid teens, perhaps
01:02
17 degrees around the London area. As we go into Wednesday evening, then for many of us,
01:08
it's a fine end to the day. Lots of lovely sunshine as we finish the end of the day.
01:13
Many southern areas will continue to see this area of cloud just drifting its way slowly
01:17
northwards. But it does tend to break up a little bit through the night. So clear skies
01:20
will prevail, I think, across most places. Some mist and fog patches possible later in
01:25
the night for some central swathes of the U.K. But the most widespread frost will be
01:30
for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Again, in towns and cities, temperatures falling
01:33
close to freezing. But in the countryside, it could get down as low as minus 5 or minus
01:38
6 as we start Thursday morning. But a little bit less cold across the south, certainly
01:43
compared to what we saw on Wednesday morning. Towns and cities holding up a few degrees
01:47
above freezing, just maybe one or two pockets of frost in our most sheltered spots as we
01:53
start the day. But for most of us, Thursday greets us to a lovely sunny day. There will
01:57
be long spouts of sunshine throughout the day on Thursday. So for many of us, it really
02:01
is going to be a really lovely day. At times, the western areas will have slightly hazier
02:07
skies and that's because we'll see a little bit of cirrus cloud filtering in. And into
02:10
the afternoon for parts of mid east Wales and also the Midlands, we could just see some
02:15
clouds bubbling up, some fair weather cloud. But one or two of these could just produce
02:19
a very isolated light shower. You will be unlucky, though, if you catch that. For most,
02:24
it will be another dry day. And look at our temperatures warming up a little bit more
02:28
on Thursday, quite widely into the mid teens across the U.K., but quite widely also into
02:34
the high teens with temperatures potentially getting up to 20 degrees across the southeast
02:38
at 68 in Fahrenheit. As we go through Thursday evening, then we continue to hold on to
02:45
plenty of dry and bright weather. But as we go towards the weekend, signs are of a change.
02:51
Of course, you can catch more on our YouTube channel with the 10 day trend. Take care.
02:56
Bye bye.
