Crispy Fried Anchovies is a delicious snack with a crunchy texture and rich flavor. It pairs well with steamed rice or can be enjoyed as a crispy appetizer with a cold beer.

Ingredients:

300g fresh anchovies

100g crispy frying flour

50g cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Cooking oil

Chili, garlic, fish sauce (for dipping sauce, if needed)


Instructions:

1. Prepare the anchovies: Rinse the anchovies thoroughly and let them drain. You can season them with a bit of salt and pepper for extra flavor.


2. Prepare the batter: Mix crispy frying flour with cornstarch. In a separate bowl, beat the egg.


3. Coat the anchovies: Dip the anchovies into the beaten egg, then coat them evenly with the flour mixture.


4. Fry the anchovies: Heat oil in a pan and fry the anchovies until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain excess oil.


5. Serve: Enjoy while hot, paired with sweet and sour fish sauce or chili sauce.
