00:00Eight members of the Gun For Hire group were arrested in Cebu.

00:03Some members of the group are using minors for their crimes.

00:07The local government of Cebu City is open to implementing a city-wide curfew.

00:18Eight members of the Gun For Hire group were arrested after the authorities arrested them

00:22for their subsequent operations from January 17 to March 1 this year.

00:28According to PRO-7 Director Police Brigadier General Rodrigo Maranan,

00:32they also received a report that groups are using minors to be gunmen or lookouts.

00:58We don't know how we will rescue the minors involved in this.

01:02But still, we are calling on our barangay officials to implement the curfew for minors

01:10so that minors will not be used by syndicates.

01:14Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia assured that he will discuss this in their command conference this month

01:21with the local authorities.

01:24Because the barangays, they even have their own laws and ordinances regarding curfew.

01:27Some of them implement, some of them don't.

01:29But if there is a necessity that we have to implement a city-wide curfew,

01:34then that is something that we will have to discuss with the Philippine National Police

01:38and other law enforcement agencies in our next meeting.

01:43Those loose firearms are really in the black market.

01:47That's why we will continue to look for and recover those loose firearms.

01:52And we will check where they can buy them.
