00:00Gilas Filipinas women clinched its first win in the 2025 FIBA Women's Asia Cup

00:05after defeating Lebanon 73-70 on Wednesday in Shenzhen, China.

00:11Gilas marked a game-high 17-point lead in the first quarter

00:15before Lebanon gradually came back to make the game close

00:18and take a two-point advance before the final frame.

00:22With 35 seconds remaining, Jillian Archer missed a free throw

00:26that would have tied the game.

00:28Holding a slim one-point lead, Naomi Panganiban sank in two clutch free throws

00:33to increase the Philippines' advantage to three.

00:37Using a strong defense, the national team denied the opportunity to force overtime.

00:42Panganiban led the Gilas women with 15 points, four rebounds and three assists,

00:48while Jack Animam had a double-double with 14 markers and 16 boards,

00:53adding five dimes and three swipes.

00:56With this win, the Philippines will remain in Division A of the FIBA Women's Asia Cup

01:02and also enter the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

01:05The Gilas women's team will next face number two team in group in the knockout rounds.
