00:00Many motorists who do not have a license plate on their vehicle are still being arrested.

00:06That's what LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza, the second, confirmed in an interview with Radyo Pilipinas.

00:14Asic Mendoza said that the arrested motorists who are being arrested here will be fined Php 5,000.

00:21This is in accordance with the Land Transportation and Office Traffic Code of the Philippines or RA 4136.

00:27GIPA officially has no backlogs or lack of license plates for four-wheel vehicles.

00:33Therefore, there is no reason for motorists not to have a license plate.

00:39Meanwhile, it is expected that the backlogs on license plates for motorcycles will end by June or July.

00:46We have a lot of people who are being arrested.

00:49When we checked, the license plate is still on the back of their vehicle.

00:55There is a penalty of Php 5,000.

00:59We hope that we can avoid that if our motorists comply to attach their license plates.
