Sterita Park bull sale

Bids were free-flowing, with a $20,000 top reached three times.

00:00These Sarita Park bulls presented, they were certainly right up in the top end of it for me in the field days back last week

00:07and then again today they presented really, really well.

00:09They've done it on grass, on lucerne and lucerne hay, no supplementary feeding other than lucerne hay and the way they presented these guys

00:15they've got a heap of carcass, a heap of length, docility is fantastic, they're still there now and they've been like that all day.

00:22When you consider 2024 was arguably in the top couple of worst years for the South East area, probably in the last 100 years

00:29We had strong competition on the top end, good to see Benira Pastoral back through Mount Gambier.

00:35Kangaringa were really strong on, in particular, low birth weight, high calving ease heifer bulls

00:40which there was literally dozens of those bulls scattered through the sale

00:44so they underpinned the sale, probably bought 15 bulls each or thereabouts

00:48and then from there, there was great value for money all the way through where people could operate and shop at either end of the budget scale

00:54We had three bulls top of $20,000

00:56A new buyer with one of the $20,000 tops with Clover Ridge, so there's a Fisher family

01:01so it's good to see those guys here as a first time buyer.

01:04The Woodings that have been buying bulls here for as long as I can remember are still buying one of the top priced bulls

01:08so the genetics are obviously working for those repeat buyers but they're also attracting new people in as well.

01:13To come up as well as they have and then have our regulars come and support us and get a few new guys as well has been just fantastic.
