00:06five. You just must be feeling really positive after that.

00:09Yeah, look, it's on the pitch now. Everything is real good. We've got to where we wanted

00:16to be. We got there earlier last season. It's taken a bit of time, but that's sort of how

00:21it works here, you know, when you get to put your side together. And there's an awful lot

00:25going on now behind the scenes. And listen, the lads don't need to know about it. They

00:31know about it now, but it makes it difficult. So when something like that happens, it's

00:36really, really pleasing. Just to sort of say, you know, what you're doing is the right way.

00:43And you know, just keep believing in it and you'll get what you deserve. And that's the

00:47result that I think our performances have deserved this season.

00:51We've played what are the top five, and other than when we went to Redhill and we were outclassed

00:57by them, we've matched them. But listen, that doesn't mean we're a top five side. It just

01:02means we've got the ability to be there. So I think you've just got to be proud of that.

01:06Just come away and go, look, for us, it's on to the next game already. They'll enjoy

01:10it. Of course they will, because they should do it. It's a big win. But for us, it's now

01:15can we get another three points next week travelling the Caribbean Casuals and just

01:18finish the season the best way we can.

01:20Yeah, and so you've managed to park the stuff off the pitch, concentrate on the football

01:25and to go toe-to-toe against a side like that and really play some good football and deserve

01:30the win really. I mean, you can't ask for more, can you really?

01:33We've had a sending off for kicking the ball away when we've been given a foul and the

01:39goalkeeper's off the line, so he's had a shot. He's got a second booking for that, so we've

01:43gone down to ten men. So that makes it difficult. We've then got a penalty. Now that's exactly

01:47the same scenario when we went away to Whiteleaf a couple of weeks ago. If you're not making

01:51a clear attempt at the ball, then it can be a red and a penalty. And for me, if the ball's

01:56the other side of the player, you can't make a clear attempt at the ball. Interpretation

02:00is what matters and we've had two referees referee the situation differently and again,

02:06it's gone against us both times. We've got the penalty, well no, the red. Listen, we've

02:10missed the penalty. It could have been more and I think the turning point of the game,

02:15had a Melville save, I think. It comes at a time that they're just piling the pressure

02:20and if they score one, they probably go on and get another and that save's outstanding

02:25in my opinion. That is probably as good a save as you've seen.

02:27I was going to say, I mean, I'm not sure if I've seen a better save this season and that

02:31was at 2-1 and a minute later, go up and make it 3-1. So I mean, that was absolutely pivotal.

02:37And they're the margins that we haven't been able to sort of cross, like the line. It makes

02:43such a difference and the group are so together at the minute. It takes time to get that and

02:49Red Hill, I'll take credit to them, they're a good group. They have a good camaraderie,

02:54they're together. This will hurt them but I hope it propels them to go on and win the

02:59league to be fair.

03:00How do you make a fast start again? Fourth minute, opening goal, it was a good ball from

03:03Joe and then Alex finishes it off.

03:05Yeah, look, Al coming in, he just brings that quality. He can finish. He scored a hat-trick

03:09today and people are going to go, who's been your best player? Well, he's going to be one

03:12of them but it's one of them games where I'll go, don't really ask that question, mate.

03:16Just look at what the team have done as a whole. Like you said, we've gone toe-to-toe

03:20with a top, top side. We've got resources, brilliant players and their location enables

03:26them to attract players.

03:27And it was good performances across the pitch, across the whole team really, wasn't it?

03:31Yeah, look, if you really want to go through it, Adam's made top saves, his distribution

03:35has been brilliant. He probably dropped one in the first 15 minutes that you make you

03:39like, oh, that could send a player's game one way or another. His game was outstanding

03:44for the rest of it. George and Toller as a centre-half pairing, outstanding. He used

03:48that old-fashioned head it, kick it and do exactly that. Full-backs tucking in, Scott

03:52is not a full-back and he's just gone in there. He's been aerially good. Listen, there would

03:56have been space in behind if they could get it, they didn't. The wide players, Adam and

04:00Liam, were dangerous every time they got it, Adam especially so. Matty Benham just sat

04:04in front of back four, he became like a sweeper and just dropped into areas when the centre-halves

04:09went and won it. Owen Town and Joe Watton, just endless work. And then Al Mack, you know,

04:14and look, we've got four lads on the pence that haven't got on today and I've got to

04:18sort of apologise, but they're coming off going, you know, there's no way we get brought

04:21on in a game like that. And it's how it is and that's the difference. Some people are

04:25down tools and go, you know what, I've had enough and that's not happening here.

04:29Half-time at 1-0, what was the message going into that second half?

04:33We'd sat up in a way, we knew they were going to be direct. They don't hide that, they know

04:37exactly what they want to do and how they do it and they've got willing runners off

04:40the ball. We just said, we're just going to have to keep going toe-to-toe to them, keep

04:45winning the first ball, picking up the second ball, don't allow them to pick the ball up

04:49and drift in and get shots off, which we did at their place. We were good with the first

04:53ball, we weren't good with the second ball. And then be clever when we got the ball. Don't

04:57just give it back to them and let them pump it back up to us. And I think there were moments

05:01when we were exceptional with the ball. I thought our decision-making was really, really

05:05good.

05:06I'd say really good with the ball, but when you did have to stand up to the balls into

05:09the box, you did that really well, didn't you?

05:12Look, again, and I think that was the whole group. I thought the centre half was outstanding

05:17just aerially, but just people getting within ten yards of them to pick up the second ball

05:22and not allow them to get that. If you play with that intensity every week, then that

05:28will take you into the top six. We've just got to concentrate on going to the Olympians

05:33next week and trying to get three there.

05:35How's Hattrick? Obviously, all good goals in their own ways, but the third one, the

05:391-2 with Adam and a good finish.

05:42That's great. They're playing it between two lads that are enjoying their football here.

05:46They like it. Al's come here because he had some issues and just wanted to go and enjoy

05:52his football. He's doing that now. Adam's had a couple of clubs come in for him and

05:56these clubs are in the mix to play for something. The expenses and the cost they would have

06:01been offered would have been well above what we could do. He wants to stay and be part

06:06of what we're doing this year. Listen, what he does in the summer will be another question

06:11altogether, but these guys are in for what I'm asking from them and I can't be happier

06:16than that.

06:17Obviously, great momentum at the moment. The West Six League issue raises its head every

06:22year, doesn't it? I guess you just have to concentrate on what you can at the moment,

06:25don't you?

06:26To be honest, it might not be my problem next year, so let's just worry about what is my

06:30problem, which is eight games of football, which is close to the best finish we can get

06:34this season and then what happens in the summer happens.

06:37I'm just looking forward to Corinthians and Casuals now. Just keep the momentum going.

06:45go away for them. They have a massive following, so it'll be an exciting place to go and we'll

06:50enjoy it.
