00:15Without steel, we don't have subs, we don't have resilience. It's one of the lessons of the

00:21pandemic, is that Australia has to make things here. And we want a future made in Australia,

00:28which is why we will always have your back, which is why we will always back Bluescope

00:34here in the Illawarra, who celebrate 100 years of creating jobs and economic activity

00:42in just three years time. And this is a company that can continue not just to exist, but can grow

00:51into the future. Because this is a company that's forward looking, that looks at how we lower

00:57emissions, increase productivity, all the things that we see here that you, the workers, deliver.

01:04I said upstairs that this facility is the heart and soul of the Illawarra. Well,

01:11Wedlam is the heart and soul of the Labor Party. And those two things combined are really important

01:18to me. I want you to thrive in the future. One of the things that we're doing, I've been

01:28speaking with your management here about a few issues and challenges, which are there.

01:35I make this point, I will always stand up for Australia's national interests.

01:39When it comes to engagement in trade, Bluescope creates jobs not just here,

01:44creates jobs around the world, including in the United States. And that is really, really

01:50important. Five billion dollars invested in the United States. And there's real opportunities for

01:55Bluescope to expand. The other thing that I'd say is that without Bluescope, our submarines,

02:08our roofs, everything that you do here touches Australians' lives on a day-to-day basis.
