00:00Now, let me ask you this.

00:01So you go into the locker room and you've got a team that's 11 and 1 that has won every

00:07game since the Northern Illinois game.

00:09You're playing for a national championship.

00:11No one thinks you can win the game.

00:13What do you say to them before this game as they go out on the field?

00:17Because I believe that they believe I believe that the Irish believe that they're going

00:25out tonight to win.

00:26If you're not going out to win, then why even make the trip at all?

00:31Yeah.

00:32Well, and I think you the defensively you hit that point.

00:35There is no difference between these between these two defenses in there, the way they

00:39played all year.

00:41And that evens things up.

00:42But if I'm the head coach and I look at them and I said, men, let's just go do what we've

00:46been doing the last 11 weeks.

00:48You know, as well as I do, you can beat this football team, not by something magical, not

00:53by something happened out of the out of the ordinary.

00:55Go out and play your game.

00:57Go after kick their ass, play your game and you go out there and win this guy.

01:01I think you talk with complete confidence like everybody there knows exactly what they're

01:06capable of doing.

01:08Do you think Riley Leonard will screw this game up?

01:12No, he's I think he's one of the reasons they win.

01:15He won't throw for a lot and he's not fast enough to run for a lot of yardage.

01:20But as I've seen two or three games that I've studied them, if he needs three yards to get

01:24a first down, he'll get three and a half.

01:26If he needs to scramble on second down instead of waiting for a second receiver to get open,

01:31he'll get it down to a third and one and two.

01:33He makes great decisions.

01:35And I think it's his decision making, not as and I'm not talking about NFL talent or

01:40the strongest arm or the fastest legs.

01:43He's got it.

01:44Whatever it is, he's got it.

01:46He'll make the plays to keep their drives going, make first downs.

01:50To me, he's always in control of himself and what he needs to do on every play.

01:55Do you think they should have played this game on Friday night and not on Monday night

02:00so long since they played the Thursday and Friday semis?

02:05Well, you know what?

02:07It is what it is.

02:08I think both coaches would agree with you.

02:10You don't want to sit around after after getting here.

02:13You don't want to sit around as long as they've sat around because so many things can happen.

02:17And also you just lose that.

02:19Coming off big wins, a couple of big wins, and you sit and things can happen.

02:24You can lose that momentum.

02:26You can lose that feeling.

02:27And so, no, I think I wish they would have played it on Friday.

02:30But the fact is, whatever affects one team has all the opportunity to affect the other team.
