00:47The deal was agreed by Israel's cabinet in a late-night session, which stretched into

00:52the early hours of Saturday morning.

00:54It comes after months of negotiations between the warring sides and mediators Qatar, Egypt

00:59and the U.S.

01:00Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that Israel is treating the ceasefire

01:05as temporary and reserves the right to return to war if necessary.

01:09Thirty-three hostages held by Hamas are to be released in the first six-week phase in

01:14exchange for Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons.

01:17IDF forces will also move away from densely populated areas, allowing thousands of displaced

01:23Palestinians to return to what remains of their homes.

01:26Phase two is expected to see the remaining hostages released and a full Israeli troop

01:31withdrawal from Gaza.

01:33Phase three will see the bodies of the remaining captives handed over to Israel in return for

01:37a reconstruction plan for Gaza.

01:45There have been rallies in major European capitals in support of the Gaza ceasefire,

01:49which comes into effect on Sunday morning.

01:52Many European protesters hope the ceasefire, which Israel maintains as temporary, will

01:56lead to a lasting peace.

01:59Families of hostages held in Gaza gathered in Paris with French officials and Jewish

02:03groups.

02:04Thirty-three hostages are set to be released over the next six weeks in exchange for hundreds

02:09of Palestinians imprisoned by Israel.

02:12Activists marched through Madrid in support of Palestine hours before the ceasefire is

02:17due to go into effect.

02:19While some protesters held banners saying fair peace, others called for Spain's government

02:23to boycott Israel.

02:25Several thousand people marched across Lisbon to protest against all wars and to call for

02:30peace.

02:31The protest was organized by trade unions and civil society groups.

02:36And in London, thousands of protesters held a static rally in Whitehall after police curtailed

02:41their plans for a march.

02:48Thousands of people have attended a rally in Kiev to demand the Ukrainian government

02:52do more to secure the release of prisoners of war held in Russia.

02:56They're also demanding authorities step up efforts to locate missing loved ones.

03:01There have been semi-regular protests in Ukraine to demand answers about the whereabouts of

03:06family members missing in the war.

03:08Protesters have expressed their frustration over what they say is the government's poor

03:12communication and lack of clarity.

03:15Russia and Ukraine have carried out intermittent prisoner of war exchanges since the earliest

03:19days of the war, the last of which took place in December.

03:23Meanwhile, at least three people were killed in a Russian missile and drone strike on Kiev

03:28in the early hours of Saturday morning.

03:30The city's military administration said three people were injured in the attack.

03:35The statement said the air force shot down two missiles and 24 drones.

03:40A water supply pipeline was also damaged and a metro station was closed.

03:51U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has arrived in Washington, D.C. ahead of his second inauguration

03:56on Monday.

03:58His flight from Florida was dubbed Special Air Mission 47, a nod to Trump becoming the

04:0247th president.

04:05He arrived in Washington as organizers of the inauguration were scrambling to move events

04:09indoors due to freezing weather.

04:11That includes the swearing-in of the president and vice president that traditionally takes

04:15place on the steps of the Capitol.

04:18Before Trump arrived in D.C., groups of protesters took to the street to march for women's rights

04:23which they believe are under threat from the incoming administration.

04:27The People's March promoted themes related to feminism, racial justice, anti-militarization

04:33and other issues.

04:36Women outraged over Trump's 2016 presidential win organized large rallies throughout the

04:41country.

04:42The Washington rally attracted over 500,000 people, making it one of the biggest marches

04:47in U.S. history.
