00:17The province of Misamis Oriental has officially started the 12th Cuyamis Festival celebration

00:23after the opening ceremony held at the provincial capital grounds, followed by a colorful and

00:29distinct street dancing competition at El Salvador City.

00:34This was also done in accordance with the start of the province's 95th founding anniversary.

00:40In his message, Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia emphasized the importance of

00:46the celebration of the Cuyamis Festival in the province, which helps the development

00:51of the economy, which benefits not only in Misamis Oriental, but also in Cagayan de Oro

00:58City and neighboring provinces.

01:00We have lined up a series of activities and significant events to honor the rich history

01:10of our province, with our dedication to achieve the single-digit poverty incidence through

01:19the Paglaum Development Agenda.

01:23One of the highlights of the celebration is the setting up of booths made from coconut

01:28materials.

01:29The booths also serve as economic hubs where visitors can buy local products, support local

01:36businesses, and contribute to regional economic growth.

01:40We are aiming to make it a distinct festival of the country, showcasing not only the Cuyamis

01:53culture, but we are also strengthening the rich history of the province of Misamis Oriental
