00:00Envisioning a Philippines that is without homeless Filipinos, the Marcos

00:04administration worked tirelessly to provide decent shelters to those who

00:08need it most. That vision has come true for those in

00:11Eastern Visayas where the president led the ceremonial turnover of completed

00:15housing projects by the National Housing Authority.

00:22For Josefina, the experience of Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 remains a

00:33nightmare. The challenges she faced did not end when the storm stopped. After

00:38losing her home and possessions, life did not get any easier for her and her

00:42family. Josefina is just one of the thousand individuals who suffered from

00:46the wrath of Yolanda. To help them rise again, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:50led the ceremonial turnover of eight completed housing projects under the

00:54Yolanda Permanent Housing Program or YPHP of the National Housing Authority.

00:59He handed over the symbolic key representing 3,517 housing units built

01:05in eight projects located in Leyte, Samar, and Biliran. According to the

01:09president, this is the government's way of providing security to typhoon victims.

01:20The president also assured the government is committed to building disaster-resilient housing to prepare for stronger calamities brought

01:50about by climate change and guaranteed the government is focused on enhancing

01:54flood mitigation projects.

02:20The floor area of each housing unit ranges from 22 square meters to 28.60

02:45square meters. The beneficiaries will no longer have to pay amortization. The

02:49NHA also assured these housing units were built in safe locations. The

02:54president also guaranteed the government is addressing issues in earlier housing

02:58projects.
