Police questioning a man after a woman falls from a balcony

An investigation is under way after a woman plunged to her death from a high-rise balcony in Sydney’s west. A man is being questioned over the incident. Police have revealed a silent call was made to triple-zero about two hours before officers arrived at the scene.

00:07A 39-year-old woman is dead after a seven-storey fall.

00:11Earlier, neighbours heard a sound and soon knew something was wrong.

00:15The guy was in the bushes and he was performing CPR to the girl and he was saying she's not

00:26Police say triple zero was called at 11.45 last night.

00:30On that call, nothing was said.

00:32Dispatchers tried calling back twice.

00:35Two minutes later, officers called back, speaking with a man who confirmed his name and address.

00:41Police told him they would attend but didn't give a time.

00:44Almost two hours later, as officers were en route, another call, this time from a member

00:50of the public, reporting a woman hanging from a balcony.

00:54Police arrived one minute later, finding the woman on the ground.

00:58She died at the scene.

00:59Whether she was trying to hold on or crawl back up, that will form part of our lines

01:13Police say the man lived in the apartment, the woman elsewhere.

01:26Forensics have spent a large part of the day here looking for evidence.
