00:36More vessels have been deployed to intensify the search for the missing crew member after the vessel went down yesterday afternoon.
00:43This morning, the Office of Civil Defense in Eastern Visayas has coordinated with the Tactical Operations Group 8 based in Tacloban City
00:51to deploy an air asset for search-and-retrieval operations.
00:55The OCD also provided hygiene kits for the rescued crew while arranging transportation in coordination with the vessel's local authorities and its central Visayas counterpart.
01:07So far, 14 individuals have been accounted for, 13 rescued alive, 1 confirmed dead, and 1 still missing.
01:14Joint efforts by the Coast Guard, the Municipality of Allen, and nearby towns of northern Samar have been underway since this morning to expedite the search.
01:24The Philippine Coast Guard has also issued an advisory urging all ships and sea crafts transiting northern Samar to take extra precautions due to prevailing rough sea conditions.
01:35In a separate incident last Sunday, 2 lives were lost in a motorboat capsize in Lauang, northern Samar after being struck by strong waves.
01:44Authorities continue to appeal to mariners to exercise caution as weather conditions in the area remain unpredictable.
