00:00
Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:04
This is the current time.
00:06
Today is Monday, December 23, 2024.
00:10
And in our latest satellite images, we can see that this storm called Surumina
00:15
is moving away from the Kalayaan Islands.
00:18
According to this, it is 165 kilometers away from Pag-asa Island, Kalayaan, and Palawan.
00:26
We expect that this storm will head to a part of Vietnam
00:30
and there will be no direct effect to any part of our country.
00:34
Aside from this trough or the clouds,
00:37
we can see that there are clouds here in Palawan.
00:39
This will bring rains, there will be flurries, especially in the part of Palawan,
00:45
particularly here in the northern part of Palawan.
00:49
Meanwhile, the shear line or the hot and cold wind will still bring rains
00:54
in a large part of Visayas, especially in eastern Visayas,
00:59
which is now experiencing moderate to heavy up to intense rain.
01:03
So be careful of the possibility of sudden floods or flash floods
01:07
and landslides.
01:09
It will also bring rains in a large part of the Bicol region,
01:12
including the southern part of Mimaropa, Calabarzon, as well as in the area of Aurora.
01:19
We also expect that due to the effect of the northeast monsoon or cold wind,
01:23
the sky will be cloudy in a large part of the Cagayan Valley region, Cordillera,
01:29
as well as here in the area of Nueva Ecija, along with the area of Bulacan, Rizal,
01:35
and also here in Manila.
01:37
We may experience a cloudy sky with mild rains.
01:41
In the southern part of our country, especially here in the Mindanao area
01:46
and in the area of Ilocos region, generally we have fair weather,
01:49
but it is still possible that there will be isolated or mild rains in the Luzon
01:54
while there are landslides in the area of Mindanao.
01:58
Aside from this, we are not monitoring any low-pressure areas
02:04
or any types of floods inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:07
So it is possible that by the time of Christmas,
02:11
there will be no more floods inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
02:16
And this is where the weather will be in the Luzon.
02:19
We will see a high chance of rains in a large part of the Bicol region
02:24
along with Calabarzon and a large part of Mimaropa,
02:27
along with the Shire Line.
02:29
While we will experience mild rains and cloudy skies,
02:33
a large part of the Cagayan Valley region, as well as Cordillera,
02:37
along with the provinces in Central Luzon,
02:39
particularly in the part of Aurora and Nueva Ecija.
02:44
And it is also possible that here in Manila,
02:46
there will be cloudy skies with mild rains.
02:49
In the southern part of Luzon, particularly in the Ilocos region,
02:53
we will experience generally fair weather,
02:56
but it is still possible that there will be isolated light rains.
02:59
It is still possible that there will be mild winds.
03:01
The water temperature in Lawag is 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:05
In Tuguegarao, it is up to 28 degrees Celsius.
03:07
In Baguio, it is 16 to 24 degrees Celsius.
03:10
In Manila, it is 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:13
In Legazpi, in the Bicol region, it is 24 to 29 degrees Celsius.
03:17
While in Tagaytay, it is 21 to 27 degrees Celsius.
03:21
Here we are in Visayas and Palawan.
03:24
We will also see cloudy skies with rains in the Palawan region.
03:28
Palawan is at the tip of a trough or an extension of Baguio,
03:32
which we call Romina.
03:34
The water temperature in Calayaan Islands is 25 to 29 degrees Celsius.
03:37
In Puerto Princesa, it is 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:41
In a large part of Visayas, we will experience cloudy skies with rains,
03:45
especially in the eastern part of Visayas,
03:49
where the shear line is directly affected
03:51
and it will bring moderate to heavy up to intense rain.
03:55
The water temperature in Iloilo is 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:59
In Cebu, it is 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:01
While in Tacloban, it is 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:05
A large part of Mindanao will experience isolated or cloudy skies with rain,
04:11
thunder and lightning.
04:12
Generally, we have fair weather in a large part of Mindanao.
04:16
The water temperature in Zamboanga is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:20
In Davao, it is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:22
While in Cagayan de Oro City, it is 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:27
Tomorrow, we are still expecting heavy rains in a large part of Bicol Region
04:33
as well as in Calabarzon and possibly in Amihan.
04:39
We will have moderate to heavy rains,
04:43
especially in Isabela and in a large part of Mimaropa.
04:48
So be careful, especially in the eastern part of Visayas,
04:51
especially in the last few days of rain in the upper reaches of the Shire Line.
04:58
When Christmas comes, we are still expecting heavy rains in a large part of Bicol Region
05:04
as well as in Quezon Province and in a large part of Mimaropa.
05:07
It is possible that the effect of the Shire Line will also affect areas in Central Luzon
05:12
and also here in the Cagayan Valley Region.
05:15
So be careful, especially in the upper reaches of the Shire Line
05:20
and in a large part of the eastern section of Luzon and also in a large part of Visayas.
05:29
Meanwhile, because of Amihan, we have high gale warnings,
05:33
especially in areas of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.
05:39
Here, we can see that these are the areas where the sea will be unstable,
05:43
so it is dangerous to sail.
05:45
Even the smallest boats in our country, because the sea will be unstable,
05:52
it will still be affected by the strong winds.
