Good morning to all of us, this is the weather update for Monday, February 10, 2025.
00:12
We are still not monitoring any typhoons or low-pressure areas inside and outside of our
00:18
Philippine Area of Responsibility, but we have three weather systems that are affecting
00:23
our country.
00:24
First is the Northeast Monsoon, or the wind that is constantly blowing here in a large
00:31
part of Luzon.
00:32
Meanwhile, the Easterlies, or the hot and misty wind coming from the Pacific Ocean,
00:39
is constantly blowing here in Mindanao.
00:42
Now, because of the Northeast Monsoon, because of the cold wind that it brings, and the Easterlies,
00:49
or the hot and misty wind that it brings, it is resulting in what we call a shear line
00:55
that brings rain, especially here in the Bay of Bicol region, as well as here in the Bay
01:01
of Visayas.
01:04
Because of the three weather systems that are affecting our country, it brings rain
01:10
in different parts of our country.
01:13
First is the Northeast Monsoon.
01:15
We expect to experience heavy rains here in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera
01:23
Administrative Region, several parts of Central Luzon, as well as Calabarzon.
01:29
Next is the shear line.
01:31
We expect to experience heavy rains here in Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Maropa.
01:42
As for the western section of the Northern Luzon, particularly here in the Ilocos Region,
01:47
we expect that they will experience light weather, but we also expect isolated storms.
01:56
Temperature for Metro Manila, 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:00
Lawag, 23 to 29 degrees Celsius.
02:03
For Tuguegarao, we expect 20 to 28 degrees Celsius.
02:07
Baguio, 15 to 22 degrees Celsius.
02:10
Tagaytay, 20 to 27 degrees Celsius.
02:13
And Legazpi, 25 to 28 degrees Celsius.
02:18
We also expect heavy rains here in Palawan and Visayas.
02:23
This is the end of the shear line.
02:25
We also see here in Caragay, we also expect heavy rains.
02:30
This is the end of the Easter list.
02:33
As for the southern part of Mindanao, we expect light weather, but we also expect
02:39
localized thunderstorms or light rains in the afternoon and evening.
02:46
Temperature for Calayan Islands and Puerto Princesa, 23 to 29 degrees Celsius.
02:52
Iloilo, we expect 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:56
Tacloban, 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:59
Micaguende, 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:03
For Cebu, we expect 26 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:06
Zamboanga, 24 to 34 degrees Celsius.
03:09
And Dabao, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:13
This is the end of the shear line.
03:14
We have issued a weather advisory.
03:17
We expect moderate to heavy or 50 to 100 millimeters of rain here in Palawan,
03:23
Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes,
03:29
Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, and Leyte.
03:35
Throughout this day, we expect rain here in the yellow areas.
03:42
Because of the continuous rains in the past few days,
03:47
we expect localized flooding and landslides.
03:52
So, be careful for our fellowmen.
03:56
For tomorrow, we will shift the axis of our shear line
04:01
and this will bring moderate to heavy or 50 to 100 millimeters of rain
04:06
here in Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur,
04:10
Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Oriental Mindoro.
04:14
So, we still expect flash floods and landslides.
04:20
Wednesday, our shear line will continue to rise
04:24
and this will affect Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.
04:30
We expect moderate to heavy or 50 to 100 millimeters of rain.
04:38
Because of the Northeast monsoon, we have high gale warnings here in Batanes,
04:43
Cagayan, along with Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan,
04:49
Isabela, Aurora, Zambales, Northern Coast of Quezon, along with Polilio Islands,
04:55
Camarines Norte, Northern Coast of Camarines Sur.
04:59
Also, here in the Northern and Eastern Coast of Catanduanes,
05:02
Eastern Coast of Albay, Eastern Coast of Sorsogon, Calayan Islands,
05:07
Northern and Eastern Coast of Northern Samar, Eastern Coast of Eastern Samar.
05:12
So, we are warning our fellow countrymen, especially those who have small sea vehicles
05:18
that are in danger of flooding here in our coastal waters.
