00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved several important irrigation projects

00:05and proved that they will help to further improve the economic mobility and disaster response in the country.

00:12This is Clayzel Pardilla of PDV in Balitang Pambansa.

00:18The well-being of each one of us should be prioritized and be more resilient in the coming pandemic.

00:23This is the direction that the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is aiming for.

00:28That is why in the 23rd National Economic and Development Authority or NEDA Board Meeting,

00:34President Marcos approved the projects that will stimulate our agriculture and improve the lives of Filipinos,

00:41including the construction of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra Irrigation Project or INIS-SAIP

00:48that will benefit 32,000 families.

00:52It will provide water to more than 14,000 hectares of farmland.

00:57It will certainly stimulate the production of rice, which is important for the use of food security.

01:03INIS-SAIP will also supply hydroelectric power or electricity in the Ilocos region,

01:08which will not only help the residents,

01:11but will also encourage businessmen and investors to move to the area.

01:16The project is worth P37.5 billion.

01:20Construction will start next year and will be completed by 2030.

01:26The ABC or Accelerated Bridge Construction Project will also be planned next year.

01:31Seven bridges and viaducts will be built in the priority areas to reduce traffic.

01:37Twenty-two response bridges will also be built that will serve as alternative routes in times of emergency or calamity.

01:45It will be funded by P25 billion from the Official Development Assistance.
