00:00Palarong Pambansa this year is just around the corner.

00:03That is why the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte is getting ready

00:07as they expected to welcome about a thousand delegation.

00:11Some facilities in the province are being renovated and improved

00:15which will be used during the game.

00:17Philippine Information Agency, Ilocos Norte, Emma Joyce, Miguel Guillermo tells us more.

00:25The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte

00:27continues to prepare for the 2025 Palarong Pambansa tentatively scheduled on April 24 to May 1.

00:34According to Governor Matthew Marcos Monotoc,

00:37they are focusing on three aspects in their preparations.

00:40The athletes' well-being and safety, environment and financial sustainability,

00:45and developing digital projects.

00:47So we want to make sure that, first of all, our athletes are taken care of

00:51and that they are really comfortable.

00:54Second, our theme is, of course, sustainable.

01:01We love renewable capital of the Philippines.

01:05We want our games to be eco-friendly.

01:08And the third is leveraging technology.

01:12So we want to make an app where everyone can find information.

01:18This year's games is expected to welcome about 15,000 delegation

01:22including athletes, coaches and officials of the Department of Education.

01:26Monotoc added that some of the facilities in the province are being renovated and improved

01:32like the Marcos Stadium and the Centennial Arena,

01:34which will be used during the Palarong Pambansa.

01:37He added that they are working on getting more flights coming in Ilocos Norte

01:41in anticipation of the increase in visitors and tourists coming in to watch the games.

01:46Meanwhile, Gene Kahinaldo, Sports Coordinator of the DepEd Schools Division of Ilocos Norte,

01:51assured that the department is in close coordination with the provincial government

01:56in preparation especially in ensuring that the game venues and accommodations are in order.
